I recently came across the money making guide for DA2 and discovered about the runes of fortune, And so I wanted to know, does act 1 provide us with any shield at all that contains 2 or 3 rune slots so that I can use it on Aveline?

I wouldn't think so - at least not on consoles.

 

Personally I use Lion of Orlais on Aveline.

Emporium DLC for 5g 2s 31c. It has 3 slots and can be obtained in Act 1.

There is also Courage (http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Courage) from the Warrior Item Pack with 2 slots, which costs no gold in-game.

Yep, that's the only shield with 3 slots, so I did the trick and when I checked, I discovered when I was about to launch the deep roads expedition that my character had virtually the same amount of gold compared to another one that didn't used runes of fortune. That means I made about 7 extra gold thanks to it. I think it's worth investing.
