Yes, that was the reason.  I think they were possible pre-testing for Platinum and using it as an excuse.

Considering that a single Cain shot wasn't enough to take them out... I wouldn't count on 6 cobras to do the work, honestly

Cobra seems far more powerful than Cain I think, considering that even cains couldn't take out the YMIR mechs in one hit, but cobra can take out atlas in one hit.

True that. The crabs we have right now can take a missile to the dome piece and still have some armor left, taking out a ME2 crab with missiles could be problematic.

Sometimes I wonder how much of a bad person I must be for Ghandi to declare war on me ... number of times I've crawled into bed at 3am, waking my other half up, and having to apologise with "sorry my lovely, Ghandi declared war on me... And when they released the Artorias of the Abyss DLC instead of giving us a way to spare his life the f*cking w*nkers made it even worse. :'( is an understatement. Every playthrough after that I've used a hex editor to give myself the Covenant of Artorias and zero f*cks given. Sif = good puppy.
