Iakus, not that I disagree with you, but keep in mind that BioWare has next to nothing to do with any of this. The simple truth is, if EA wants multiplayer in the game, it will be in the game. We have known for quite some time now that EA has a new policy of incorporating online elements into each and every one of their upcoming games, which seem to always translate into a multiplayer component. This has been the case since Kingdoms of Amalur in February 2012. They literally haven't a published a single SP-only game since they launched that game, and I fully expect that to continue for the foreseeable future.

Just the sad reality of the situation.

Yeah it is sad.  Heck, it's downright depressing.  Especially after they kept saying "Dragon Age 2 did enough to meet the online requirement!" or "The Keep is good enough to meet the online requirement!"

Of course, the Keep isn't a moneymaker...

As much as I dislike Multiplayer consider this....would you rather they put micro transactions in the SP game? Or in the Multiplayer?

I'd rather shoot the Catalyst.

I'd rather they made a separate game...an DA MMO, then everyone that loves MP so much could pay to get that game. And pay for the subscription. And pay for the micro transactions. And I could ignore it entirely, playing SP only DA:I.

Everyone wins.

The forums aren't everybody, though.

They're a seriously obsessed, tiny, devoted, probably neurotic section of their fanbase.

Bioware cannot and should not use the BSN's potential reaction as a reason to influence the timing of their reveals.

Looking at the posts of five or ten "omg I'm worried about multiplayer" fans are absolutely useless when the fate of the game will be decided by millions of other people.

And how can you conclude that people will be annoyed at a late reveal if it's literally just you who keeps saying it and talking about broken trust? I've seen far more posts here that look forward to MP, even *if* we're using this thread as a measurement of fan reactions, which is silly in itself.

That dismissing other people thing I mentioned?  You're doing it again.

I am not the only one expressing concern about MP.  Though I am probably one of the more vocal ones.

And after ME3, yes, they should take more care in how and when MP gets announced.  And do it sooner rather than later so they can demonstrate that this time they actually carried the one or whatever to show it won't have an affect on SP if you don't want to participate.

Because, you know, people remember that.  If that wasn't an embarrassing moment for Bioware, it should be.

I predict i the next week or so it will be officially announced, followed by a tsunami of tweets about how awesome it is. (the word 'awesome' will be used a lot) And we'll get a MP system with a cute "Galaxy at War" name like Culling of Demons or somesuch.

It should also be noted that it took literally months before I engaged in a thread discussing MP. Months spent gritting my teeth as people who wanted MP took shots at people who didn't, saying they were anti-social and being unreasonable and not living in reality etc etc.

There might well be many lurkers that feel the same way. Not speaking up is not necessarily the same as endorsement. It can be. But it can also be the same as resignation.

It is depressing but EA have discovered that fools and their money are easily parted and thus they want multiplayer and its requisite microtransactions with everything.

As for Bioware not officially announcing it? Well, I'm not surprised. After the brouhaha that was ME3's multiplayer impacting on the SP game pre-patch, they probably want to minimise the number of cancelled preorders from legitimately wary and uneasy DA players. If they announce it as late as possible and in the meantime sweeten the pot with all sort of things the SP game players like, then hopefully they won't lose too many preorders and therefore sales.

So present it as that instead of repeating hollow rhetoric like a politician.

The only part of the single player was a after credit scene that became irrelavent almost two years ago,but you and the rest don't want to acknowledge it was changed.

They don't listen except when they do listen but that just gets ignored so you and others can continue the witch hunt.

I'm actually now excited for multiplayer, if it exists! I wonder what it'll be like. :D

I like things one way so things should never be the other way. If anyone wants the other way then they should buy a totally different game and never have anything in common with me

If there is multiplayer, I hope it isn't co-op. I don't have any friends who play the same games as I do, and if MP is like that I have to skip it.

not sure pvp would work for this... I think it'd have to be coop. You could always play with randoms. Its not always bad.... at least sometimes. I mean, I guess it depends on how the coop mode is. If its like me3 though, you shouldn't really have a problem with randoms.

You come across a cave in your exploring "This cave requires the Co-op experience. Would you like to connect?" Or my favorite back when playing Dead Island. "Buttwizard1122 is nearby. Would you like to connect?"

Honestly if I can play the SP and enjoy all the contents without even touching the MP then I don't care. Never liked MP never will. However if they bind it to the SP then i'm going to get angry. I would go as far as saying that they should make it a separate download so that people that don't want it don't even have it installed.

I'm going to say that I hope this isn't true, but first there was human only... Then multiracial protagonists, including Qunari.  <_< Then the love-interests and that "templar". I'm seeing what I perceive to be a lot of pandering here and I'm not sure how to feel about it. There's a difference between listening to and answering your fans and pandering.

...angry customer?? Are we allowed to get angry when we voice our discontent? Or it's a dictatorship? Can we get angry on something we paid for? Of course if BW is going to give the game for free then you are right we should not get angry...otherwise we have all the right to it.

That's silly, I played ME 3 multiplayer for 2 years and never paid any micro transactions. Although I agree they should not bind it to single player so that those not interested don't have to play it to get ending A or B.

Thing is, this is not going to generate the hype they'll want.  This is going to make people wonder what they have to hide.  Especially after ME3.  It's one thing to not go into detail about known features yet:  like crafting, skills trees, Skyhold Keep, etc.  To to refuse to even confirm or deny a feature is in the game?  Especially a controversial feature like multiplayer?  Bioware is no longer the top-dog rpg developers with nothing to prove.  They've squandered a lot of trust.  This isn't the way to earn it back.

Exactly what I'm thinking.  If they wanted to generate extra hype and create more pre-orders they would've let us know by now if multiplayer was in the game.

And while I do think Bioware did squander a lot of our trust, I think most of the blame for that falls on EA.  They are notorious for rushing game developers to get games out sooner.  It's why DA2 was so rushed and did so poorly compared to DA:O.

Seriously? Giving players more options is automatically pandering? Was there any way for them to let you play as a non-human race or make Cullen a love interest without it being "pandering"?
