I couldn't care less either way.

Is the list believable? Yes it is. Does that make it true? No.

Unfortunately, since it appears believable people take the list and try to find "clues" about the game which leads to loads of misinformation. Which is then spread around the forums leading to numerous pointless arguments.

The moment we get any sliver of new information people jump through mental hoops to connect it with the "leak" which just furthers the previous cycle.

Yeah, but that always happens, even when there isn't a leak. People will use anything to reinform their biases and expectations, even their own imagination, and when that's not what they get, they get pissed. That said, I think there's a high probability this leak is genuine, since it originated on the russian Origin site, and previous misinformation was shot down by the devs, like that time when a magazine claimed we'll go to Nevarra.

This is what I'm banking on. If it was just false/forged information, someone like Allan would've just come in and said "don't wet your panties, none of it is real" by now, seeing as how they've done that before.

The list certainly brought a smile to my face when I saw the inclusion of Corypheus and Multiplayer mode in the achievements, but I won't be pulling my hair out if it turns out to be false in a few days. Either way, it was fun to speculate and discuss on.

The problem with that being it isn't considered a leak.

The magazine printed a misinterpretation of what the BioWare marketing had let them see. BioWare HAD to respond to that because the magazine was misrepresenting their game since BioWare is not Peter Molyneux (harsh I know).

I've mentioned this before but about a year ago there was a leak that supposedly told the entire story of DAI. BioWare NEVER commented on that leak, the thread quickly fell to the second page (etc), and most forum goers have forgotten about it entirely. That isn't happening her simply because some people find new information causing them to try to link it to the achievements.

Yeah, well. I guess we'll see when the game comes out. I'm fine either way, the only thing I'm hoping for(from the "achievement" list) is that Val Royeaux will be accessible, which still isn't stated explicitly here.

Actually that Navarra thing was printed in a magazine. Not a leak, so the Devs had to shoot it down, because otherwise players would expect it to be true, since it was printed in a legit preview. This is not printed in a magazine, or expected to be true by the player base at large, because it is a possible leak. Apples and Oranges.

They still never addressed that story leak from a year ago...and that has been actual ages...

So...yeah...

"Relevant" achievement:

Spoiler

How does solving a "problem" with the chantry in Val Royeaux immediately lead to the belief people are being assembled there?

Besides the whole "Well Val Royeaux is the capital! The achievement has the word 'Capital'! Therefore the achievement is mentioning this mission dealt with entirely off screen in the game".

Bolded and underlined the emphasized part.

Most of the previous leaks about three factions of the Inquisition who will help us, a quest which involves going to a masqarade party and companions turned out to be true

It would also explain the "Fight fire with fire" achievement.

Since we saw two dragons fighting.

Yes, they did...

Because they are vague enough to fit to any situation.

The vast majority of BioWare games have THREE FACTIONS that SUPPORT the PLAYER CHARACTER!

This is an interesting example of the Forer/Barnum effect if we focus entirely on predictions being vague enough to apply to any situation. Which is definitely what we have here.

Since this predictions tend to appear believable people then start (stealing from another of my posts) to base the logical strength of an argument on how believable it seems. In this case people find it believable that it is the Orlesian Warden so therefore they believe that is the most logical assumption.

Which further leads to confirmation bias as people then start to search for and perceive new information as confirming their prior beliefs. As we can see here with the Capital Occasion achievement.

The companion "leak" is it's own can of worms, and was likely not a real leak.

It would also explain the "Fight fire with fire" achievement.

How do we know the dragon was tamed and not Flemeth/Morrigan?

*Looks at biases*

Oh, right...got it...

Well, I looked at the achievement list and it said: Tame the dragon.

Which I doubt is Flemeth.

*facepalms*

It's impossible to argue with someone who is so biased against people ****** speculating and actual confirmation of leaks

Listen here, most of the major leaks we've got - almost all of them and all I personally know - are pretty much confirmed to be real. Not because they're vague, not because people are "biased", but because of the official information already known

The leak survey? ****** confirmed

The leak which tells us of the main plot and some parts of it? Pretty much confirmed

The leak which tells is of factions (including who leads them, for God sake), of advisors and some quests? Partly confirmed

Let's not even go to ME3 leaks which involved a whole Beta and the endings which though were changed, slightly, still are very, very similiar

You may like it, you may hate it, but you can't deny it

Have I ever stated I dislike all speculation?

I could go on, and on pointing out the numerous biases/fallacies being used, but I suppose I will end this discussion about that now.

I just point out the other interpretation for the "leaks"/story, and I feel it adds a bit more to the discussion.

On a side note, if you ever have the desire to go searching for the "Entire story of DAI being leaked" thread it would be appreciated.

?

Well, I looked at the achievement list and it said: Tame the dragon.

Which I doubt is Flemeth.

Again I will ask:

How do we know it was a tamed dragon?

Does it seem like it is? Yes.

Is it the only explanation? No.

The explanation that it is a tame dragon seems to confirm the achievement leak confirms the "validity" of the leak it is the explanation that people (who believe it) will almost immediately jump on.

Now I shall actually go to sleep since I'm not sure how clear I am being.

With my tendency for tangents I am likely not being as clear as I would prefer.

All I said was that it would make sense. I'm not desperately trying to prove that thea achievement list is legit, if that's what you're thinking.

From the leak: "Ancient Writings: Recover a Veilfire rune"

From the latest gameplay video:

Beneath the Mire
Veilfire Runes Found (1/4)

Objective: Find all veilfire runes.

We've known about veilfire since September of last year, but (I believe) this is the first time we've heard about collecting vielfire runes.

Does that mean you get the achievement the first time you ever pick up a rune? Because it's clearly referring to a singular rune.

I don't know. They might mean picking up one, or they might mean completing a single rune.

So:

  • Veilfire runes
  • Taming dragons
  • Chantry missions

it would have to be a pretty impressive fake as the pieces continue to drop into place...

It would seem to me that the 2/4 is the number of veilfire runes they've activated out of the total number in that area. The footage doesn't seem to suggest that you're constructing anything. I would assume that the achievement fires the first time you activate even one.

I remember hearing about veil fire making some things visible and uncovering secrets. But it has been a year so...

From the Leaked Achievement List:
Commander: Deploy forces on a timed wartable mission

To be clear, I'm speaking exclusively about the timed side missions that advisors go on. These do not have an in game gameplay component to them; they are managed exclusively through the war table.

How long have we known that the map is called the wartable?

I believe the fact that you use it to send out advisors on real time assignments is new information.

At least these two aren't tying to tie the name to a piece of information.

It's quite clear that those achievements would apply.

Which supports the belief that the list is true.
