Ok I haven't read the list yet, but can someone who has tell me if it ruined some of the hype for them yet?

 

I think read about the boss and additional content but some insight would be nyce!

I read the full list and it didn't ruin my hype. Bioware have been rather good at having non-descript achievement texts, so you just get a general idea of what some milestones may be. I'm still hyped to discover the actual plotlines myself, and figuring out how my Inquisitors will react to the situations they'll be put in.

I have a feeling you are misinterpreting "Wasn't a real leak" as meaning "IT'S ALL FAKE!!!" which would be a possible interpretation........but not what I meant.

 

I have a feeling it was actually a planned information release that was played off as a leak seeing as it had TONS of information (far more than one would expect from a leak). Which would be the intended interpretation of the statement of mine that you quoted.

 

I'll blame my odd phrasing just in case you did pick up on that and decided it was wrong.

You mean that the person who put up some of that information was not legitimate(as in actually a Bioware employee) or that they were intentionally letting this kind of information circulate(and if the latter, what leads you to believe it was intentional)?

 

From the number of posts and post history of the one's doing the leaking, I find it highly doubtful they were employees. Also it was really early to start any sort of hyping.

So I came up with a theory based on faulty information, mostly since it was leaked when I was barely visiting these forums.

 

I was wrong. 

 

If Laidlaw said it was fake then that's a misstep on his end, and also a possible reason why no one has spoken out about any other (possible) leaks.

 

Gaider is usually disingenuous, but I wouldn't say that he is entirely wrong on his "things have changed". Since there have been likely been numerous changes that we may not yet be privy to relating to until we play the game. 

 

I would also point out (for the companions) that just because certain things about their blurbs seem true does not always mean it was present when the leak was released. Hindsight is always such a pain.

When you're paranoid about everything you tend to come up with weird conspiracy theories.

The thing is, IF this was real, wouldn't Bioware have shot down the thread by now or at least comment on it? Them ignoring it makes me really wonder.

It still exists as a rumor, unlike some other thing which was aggressively deleted because it came with extensive evidence it was legit.

This may or may not be real. Someone put enough thought into it to make it seem legit (although the Chantry Mothers in Orlais that everyone thinks confirms this list is something pretty obvious any lore fan could come up with).

 

I personally think it is legit (Bioware has never been good with leaks, if they were a ship they'd be sinking lol), but I am starting to change my mind since there still hasn't been a MP confirmation and we are past Gamescon.

Use for one area does not indicate use for another.

 

They are keeping with the comicbook-esque art style for DAI, and I assume they are doing so for the keep. 

 

Again, this does not mean that they are doing the exact same icons from DA2 for the achievements for DAI.

It absolutely does. Why would you have your art team go with a completely different style for just one section instead if being consistent? Maybe not 100% proven, but definitely an indication. Combine it with everything else that has come to pass so far and it is more than enough to lean toward this leak being authentic.

Well if we were to look at the way the achievements were done in previous games, and compare them to the scenes from the narrations we would see that there is quite a difference between both games. 

 

*I had a whole section of images here comparing some of the narration scenes from Origins/DA2 and the achievements. Unfortunately, the forums do not want to support image links from the Wikia for some odd reason, and I lack the will to figure out how to place them correctly.*

 

 

They seem to match the theme of the game itself, and not the theme of a previous game.

 

I won't make the comparison between the keep images, but while I understand how the comparison can be made I do not think that it is the only explanation.

The level of Pun in this leak is sth only an English-speaking person could do. For those whose mother tongue is english this may be unnoticable

Bioware often use puns or rephrased fixed collocations which often exist only in English

This leak was found by a russian fan and as far as I know the bioware russian fandom, I'm one of few folk who knows English well-enough to create a decent pun. And most of those who know it well-enough aren't much of DA fans anyway, ME is more popular. 

As for the website which leaked this... leak, it is neither popular not professional. I doubt they would on purpose give us made up information. That would probably destroy their reputation. That's a risk I doubt they would take

As far as I can tell we're not supposed to discuss it.

 

There have been four threads created (I think a fifth was created a few hours back) all of which have been deleted with the OP possibly banned.

 

Granted all of these threads had links to the leaked pictures, but still...
