So this game take place in Florida with the giant sinkhole? I really wish they would just release a brief idea of what the game is so we know something of actual substance.
Trailer for a horror game made by Bioware?

I don't understand. If Bioware (Austin) would make one game about the occult, you would lose interest in Bioware in general and their other IP? Why, if I can ask?
Anyway, I'm interested to see what this game is really about.
Well this is curious. I guess we'll find out more on August 13.
That's quite the strong opinion. May I ask why that is?
So I guess you missed Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dragon Age 2?
Magic and demons everywhere in those games.
Any portrayal of the occult will be founded in reality, something I have no interest in. Magic and demons, a la DA, BG, JE, are not based on any sect in real life.
I'm a Christian, if that helps you understand me (and dismiss me, but that would be your problem if you did so not mine).

Well each trailer has pointed to Gamescom. I suspect we'll know the premise then.

Don't know why is everyone being so negative about this. I'm getting some kind of X-men/TSW vibe from all this teasers and I LOVE bioware's storytelling! If this becomes a superhero-like game consider me sold!
These comments interest me, because I don't get a "superhero" vide at all.

What if it's still set in a fictional world, only with a modern setting?Any portrayal of the occult will be founded in reality, something I have no interest in. Magic and demons, a la DA, BG, JE, are not based on any sect in real life.

I wouldn't dismiss you because you're Christian. I am as well, though I don't personally have a problem with this possible game, even if set in reality. Though I understand your reason.

It personally reminds me of Heroes. Expecially the second and the third teaser.

That'd be a little better, though the modern setting might tip it over the edge. Also, the use of magic in areas other than simply combat or other fairly mundane ways, which we see in DA.
It personally reminds me of Heroes. Expecially the second and the third teaser.
Maybe my problem is that when I think superhero, I think something like Superman or Iron Man (yeah I know technically he's not) or Spiderman or some such. Very focused displays of power, very obvious "superhero-ism."

Understood. Anyway, the teasers reminds me of this type of stuff more then occult related stuff.

Well the parts with the odd circles of fire--especially the second one, where the buy is drawing and then envisioning it--rub me the wrong way. Very much so. I don't see anything even vaguely superhero-y about them, that seems very...mystical.

We'll see. Both seem possible to me, but the Heroes-type vibe is personally stronger.

Yeah, you're right. Naming the demons in Dragon Age after the biblical seven deadly sins, having them bargain with people, possess them, and do horrible things has nothing to do with Christian beliefs about demons and the occult.
And it's not as if any of the demons named in Baldur's Gate have anything to do with real-world Christian beliefs about demons.
I know I'm being sarcastic, but you are being kind of selective about this. Zeroing in on this game for maybe portraying real world occultism is kind of strange in comparison to games which derive considerable inspiration from real world beliefs, even if not perfectly portrayed.
TL;DR: This is the hill you want to die on?
Seriously, though, I agree with The Elder King. This isn't taking on an "occult" vibe to me.

We can site here and argue about what is based on Christian belief or not with games. The fact is if your comfortable with the game then great if your not that is your right and don't get it, fairly simple. I am a big believer in God but I loved The Secret World still, and will probably play this Bioware game if it is any good.

Iron Man is not a superhero in the sense that he doesn't technically have "super powers", all the cool stuff he does is thanks to his suit. Much like Batman, who doesn't have powers but nonetheless manages to be awesome thanks to his equipment and training. I think this is what EntropicAngel meant.

It simply crosses the line for me. That is, if it actually DOES wind being about that. The fact that both you and he (she?) don't get that vibe encourages me that I might be wrong.

I don't, but I agree with this sentiment. I'll view the game based off what it's trying to achieve, regardless of what themes it tries to tie into it's "world"
