Can we romance the demons in the game?
Can we romance the demons in the game?
Probably not until the fans request it.
Color me interested.
If it's with Failbetter (I don't know anything about them....*takes quick look at Fallen London site will have to check out more later*) is there a possibility that it would be a browser based game?
If so....man I hope it's optimized for tablets.....I will be spending so much time at the gym tablet in hand....
it'll be a great horror game when they can't do jump scares, psycological scares, or torture all in the name of trigger warnings

There's a thought that Failbetter might just be creating the ARG.
Shadow Realms. Which was trademarked by EA back in March. When a title has the word "realms", it leads me to believe it could be an MMO, which would be an automatic pass for me.
EA hinted at some sort of multiplayer-esc component for the game. Though if it is about dreams, I can see there being several "realms" within the game for SP to explore.

ARG?
A Horror game from BioWare? Count me intrigued.
But there wasn't anything remotely scary in this teaser trailer. A Horror Rpg from Bioware does sound awesome, but if smokey heads are the extent of the type of scary stuff we're gonna see then I'm not sure about this.

I think a good Horror game from Bioware will be more creepy and unsettling than scary. Remember the broodmother scene from DA:O give me a game of that, I'd love to play it.
Clearly an ME4 trailer. checkout the smoking man @ 00:21

I agree, but still in that regard I didn't find anything really creepy in that trailer. I know it was trying to be creepy and unsettling, but I was a bit "whatever" over it. Maybe we'll see better stuff during the reveal.

Some of the courses at the Viral Marketing School website are: teaching you how to fight ghosts. how to read minds, and biology of mythological creatures. Which is, yeah. I'm guessing the Protagonist is going to be a student here. Also guessing that the dude in the Hoodie is Blake; the guy who runs the blog about finding his friend.
I absolutely adore these course descriptions.
Seems like Failbetter Studios are the writers behind this ARG, they hinted at a project with Bioware a few months ago.

Oh so that wasn't the protagonist in the video? Interesting.
ARG?
Alternate Reality Game
A sort of viral marketing tool that companies use to advertise upcoming products, usually games.
They involve solving clues and finding information, usually online.
I think Failbetter is doing the ARG for Shadow Realms, rather than contributing to the actual game.
Not made by BioWare Edmonton or Montreal, interest dropping fast... Confirmed by Aaryn Flynn at twitter, tweet is at the DAI twitter thread.
I'd love for Bioware to just say now if it's another Free-to-Play game or an MMO and not a single-player campaign, so I can know whether it's going to be even remotely worth my time or not.
If it's an mmo I'm going to be more than a little upset that they'd tease it like this.
Confirms what we suspected: It's not the new IP from Edmonton
The new project being talked about is not from the teams at BioWare Canada, and is not the new IP we revealed at E3...

So even more likely then to be the co-project with Failbetter?
or not even Bioware related at all?

Me too ![]()
I'm rather hoping that EA wouldn't be so coy about announcing a new MMO (And they they wouldn't attempt one so soon after SWTOR, especially one without an established name like Star Wars behind it) and hope that this really is an RPG. I've been wanting for Bioware to come out with an Urban Fantasy RPG for awhile now. To have my hopes crushed now would be... frustrating.
More likely than not, Failbetter is working with BioWare on some promotional web-based game that is based on the new IP, something like Dragon Age: Journeys, instead of an actual game. If you guys did just a little bit of research, you would know that is Failbetter's specialty, (i.e., Fallen London.) It seems to make more sense for EA-BioWare to hire Failbetter to work on a promotional web-based or flash game. Why else would BioWare need to work with any outside developer?

Not Bioware Canada, but perhaps Bioware Austin (The team that developed SWTOR) Just pray that its not another MMO...

The trailer has a Bioware logo on it ![]()
Most lilely Bioware Austin, they've been hiring people for a secret project for a while now.
I'd be frightened, too, if I looked into the car and saw a generic whitebread dude version of myself looking at me too.
I'm intrigued/confused by the trailer and what it can mean.
