Me too :(

I'm rather hoping that EA wouldn't be so coy about announcing a new MMO (And they they wouldn't attempt one so soon after SWTOR, especially one without an established name like Star Wars behind it) and hope that this really is an RPG. I've been wanting for Bioware to come out with an Urban Fantasy RPG for awhile now. To have my hopes crushed now would be... frustrating.

Urban fantasy beats epic fantasy.

That said, if the game is not a RPG, I'm out.

Well, hopefully we'll find out at Gamescom.  I'm told it starts on the 13th (Incidentally, the first day of classes on the ARG website)

Also incidentally, today the ARG event calendar says that its the last day to sign up for the paris retreat.  Which leaves on the 19th.  So... expect something?

It could be anything, really, the teaser is so vague (but fascinating). I'm hoping that it's Bioware taking a crack at horror, that's one of my fav game genres. Needless to say, I'm stoked to see what they have to show at Gamescom!

Yep.

Failbetter said (ages ago) that their project would be very Failbetter-y, which means lots of story and lots of writing.

Also, the Seeking Henna report has a link to Reddit's Puzzle section, so I imagine there'll be a bit of an internet treasure hunt thing going on.

(The signups for the Paris exhibition might actually happen on the website, I don't know)

I glanced at the Reddit, it looks like all they've uncovered is the hidden message in the "First Post" thing.  Taking every other letter and rearranging them apparently spells out "Hi Henna Where Are You" (Paraphrasing)

I have a feeling this is not something i'm gonna be interested in. Might be Bioware in name only, Bioware proper is working on new Dragon Age, Mass Effect and the new IP from Casey Hudson, i doubt they have another major team. Might be a smaller project, certainly not a big new RPG. Maybe downloadable, or something else entirely.

Its probably from Bioware Austin, the team that created SWTOR.  They're certainly capable of a big game, the questions remains though.

Forgot about them. I guess i had them still working on SWTOR in the back of my mind. While they are still adding stuff to the game it doesn't strike me as something major (like the continuation of the storylines), so i guess only a small portion of the team is still on it.

I've been saying for a while now that I'd like Bioware to do an X-Files-type story that's set in the real present day, but with some sort of sci-fi or paranormal element that's "under the radar" such that the general public aren't aware of it. I wonder if they may actually be going in that direction. The scenery and clothing don't suggest anything too different from the modern day.

We got word they were working on several unannounced projects back in January.  This is likely one of them.

The Woods-Watson Institute of Higher Education definitely gives off a paranormal vibe, the subjects it offers gradually change from normal (Latin, mathematics) to fighting incorporeal beings, dealing with time travel and "diplomatic practices of ancient civilisations".

I love the idea of a conspiracy set in the modern world, and it's definitely not something that Bioware has touched yet.

That it's a modern day setting is pretty much a sure thing.

Its whether or not this is going to turn out as the sort of RPG(If an RPG indeed it is) we all hope to see from the Bioware brand.

@ElitePinecone

Maybe you'll know the answer to this, since I've been wondering:  How was the ARG initially linked to the trailer we received?  Are we sure they're related?  Or are we just noticing them because they're both affiliated with EA and are happening around the same time?

Somebody who runs a SWTOR fansite received an email from Bioware with links to Seeking Henna and the Woods-Watson Institute.

They'll also apparently be at SDCC handing out Woods-Watson flyers.

Also, both those websites were registered by EA around the same time as the teaser website you've-been-chosen.com, or whatever it was.

A cipher in the trailer or email also refers to Henna.

(One more thing: someone is apparently posting clues in the Reddit puzzle thread):

"If you’ve stumbled upon this subreddit by happenchance and haven’t read my blog, please check it out here. If you have read the blog, carry on!

I finally received Henna’s incident report from a… friend. Let’s just leave it at that. There wasn’t much new information. Seriously, what’s the point of writing a report if half of it is just going to be redacted? Thankfully, there was at least one thing that stood out to me: The Woods-Watson Institute.

Henna was home schooled. Why was she spending so much time on this school’s site? And why had she never mentioned it to me? I went to their website, but things just got weirder. There’s no listed address, no information about their admissions process, and it looks like they’re using stock imagery for the campus.

I’m going to be in San Diego this weekend, handing out flyers to see if anyone knows something about this so-called school. Maybe this is just another thing I didn’t know about Henna, but I think it’s something more. It might be the only lead I have."

Oh, a shot at ME3....... how original..................

Problem?  I enjoyed a lot of aspects of ME3, I'm allowed to say a horror game can and probably will have a better choice system than ME3.

If this is a new horror IP, then I haz a sad. I detest horror whether movie, book or game. :( Never thought I would have to take a pass on anything with the BioWare label, but....eh.

"GTFO"? That's rather rude towards Bioware, don't you think?

Why can't it be horror (themed atleast) and an RPG?

See Bioware/EA, this is precisely why we talk about you having turned to the dark side.

You have a fan base - a sensitive one at that, following DA2 and ME3, you have a lot of us signed up dying to get into the Dragon Age Keep Beta (giving you underserved benefit of the doubt, given recent failures)...and then you pull a stunt like this.

Random PR/Marketing idiot in Bioware offices: "hey guys! You know how we have lots of fans waiting for us to send them an email telling them how to join the Dragon Age Keep beta? Well, I have this amazing not-at-all-evil and stupid idea! Let's promote a completely different franchise, but send the viral teaser trailer in an email that says "YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN"! That way, masses of fans will open it and follow the link, totally fooled by us into thinking it leads to a beta invite! THAT will garner like, SO MUCH more goodwill from the fans that we trick in this way! It will be awesome!"

Yeah...what a "great" idea. Cue hundreds of dislikes on Youtube for your trailer, plus a bunch of fans altering their EA preferences so they NEVER receive any emails from you again. Bridges = burned. And on something completely trivial and pointless.

Please, for the love of God, fire the person that thought this was a good idea. STOP DIGGING, sheesh!

Whoever made this decision isn't a member of the Canadian Bioware studios, so I doubt they were very aware of the Keep Beta.

Bioware isn't allowed to try out new genres?  Let alone, we know nothing about the title.

My grandma, who has never played a video game and thinks a viral advert is something that requires medicine to watch, knows about the Keep beta. :P
