Everyone except the dwarves become tranquil. Everyone - in a monotone voice - welcomes their new dwarven overlords.
So what if magic was removed from all of Thedas?

It would certainly ruin the game series if mages no longer had magic, thus eliminating my favorite character class. So lets hope that never happens!

There would be a slave rebellion in Tevinter.

It would utterly ruin the setting, magic is an integral part of the dragon age franchise.
If you really want an rpg with a medieval setting with no magic wait for Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Well they'd never be able to end any upcoming Blights lol
But it would solve a lot of problems. Shame really.

The foundations of Thedas are built on magic (it is after all the basic premise that the Devs started from), so if magic was somehow purged from existence, the world would die. Alternatively, you would simply be left with a world not much different to our own, with a variety of humanoid species, the strongest and most technologically advanced of which would then take over. So I'm thinking everyone would eventually submit to the Qun or become rootless nomads, a bit like the Dalish are now.

We all know what sides we stand on, we all know who we support and why, but what if that wasn't relevant anymore? What would a magic free Thedas even BE like? Would the quality of like improve without Darkspawn and Demons? How would Thedonesian like advance without needed to rely on spells for anything?
I suspect that there would be a heavy leap in technology in the Dragon Age world. Magic would have been a great killing tool and source of medicine, but if taken away, then other things would have to be found/created to replace the magic that was relied on. I suspect that instead of there being a war between mages and non-mages, we would have a resource war or a series of resource wars. Look at the Dwarves, they can't use magic and they make what is arguably the best weapons and armor.

Makes me think; how many monsters in DA are magic based?
A lot of creatures like Bronto's and Nug's I suspect aren't.
Those things in the caves you would fight.
Basically what I'm going with here is that Darkspawn wouldn't be the only potential problem here.
Dwarves would find themselves all disconnected from their "stone sense" I suspect.
No lyrium. Presuming Lyrium is magical.
Guess that takes in the nature of the Fade......its actually possible that "no magic" in DA is equivalent to everyone becoming tranquil.

Youd end up with an incredibly boring fantasy setting and the ending of Mass Effect 3.

So what if magic was removed from all of Thedas?
You'd have one less class to play and the demos would be shorter.
