I'm not sure if this has been brought up a lot, since I'm relatively new to the forums and the search functionallity leaves a little to be desired, but my number 1 gripe with the game has got to be the lack of data available to the players.
After perusing the forums a little I was reminded of something in game that really frustrated me, having no idea what Shale's "set bonuses" provide her. And these moments of being left in the dark in terms of game mechanics are all over the place. Take Paralysis runes for instance "chance to paralyze enemies" with a vague magnitude tacked on is all you get for a discription. Talents and skills suffer from this too, for instance, I know Aura of Might improves combat magic, but by how much? I hardly can tell the difference between having it and not having it. Which brings me to my next and currently biggest frustration with the game, not being able to tell the attack score of my Arcane Warrior.
Ever wonder why no one really knows how much dex their arcane warrior builds should have? It's probably because no one really knows how much attack their arcane warriors have, I for one find it very, very frustrating that a fundamental combat stat is kept hidden from me, simply because of a spec choice.
What's odd is in previous Bioware games all the data players would need to choose talents, spells, abilities, attack and defense scores,"difficulty checks," etc were all laid bare and very easy to access. Not so much in this game and it feels like a monumental step backwards. This could have probably been made bareable if the official wiki actually had pertinent information on it or heaven forbid the game came with a manual that told you more than just how to install the game. Instead players have to rely on third parties to obtain iformation on game mechanics, so I guess given where we are in the game's life cycle I guess I have to just hope that the xpac gives us our data.
Where are the data?
