No, Orlais is actually in the midst of a civil war.

 

However unless if its far more bloody and costly then i think it will be, they should still be near full strength at the end of it.

Which is worse than problem in Nevarra unless it will end with civil war as well there.

 

I rather doubt it will leave them near full strenght unless inq will enter the stage and solve problem quickly if not it won't be pretty for orlais.

But otherwise I agree. The elves probably wouldn't be able to properly maintain a state if they were given one. Their dalish tribes don't get along with each other even when they meet once couple years or so, and the city elves might as well be their own off species of elf for how much tension exists between them and the dalish. There's no unity, not even in being an elf, not even in being down trodden, no unifying identity for them to rally around and form a functional society.

 

At most, they can have a containment area, where they have bloody civil wars and ethnic conflicts kept in one area and away from everyone else, essentially a elf prison the scope of a nation. None of the elves have experience in government, or leadership of multiple diverse groups of people, say maybe for elvish wardens or crows. Even then, I doubt there would be a unanimous rallying behind that person, with many wanting their own version of a perfect state within their official state.

 

In other words, it's not going to work without outside help, namely humans. And that Is something I don't think the elves will be able to do.

Yes they do, but the only way to get it is:
A: invade a nation and keep the lands
B: Given to them by humans for the good deeds they do
C: set off to distant and unclaimed lands (unlikely)

In the end they'll be very xenophobic, again.

It likely will considering the Pentaghast Family is popular, wealthy and actually is the hereditary line for Nevarra. Civil wars have come from far less, but even with a weak and ailing ruler, i doubt they would risk actually moving for a major campaign against Orlais, even divided as they are, it would be something to unite them back together, at least for the duration.

 

Perhaps, Perhaps, not but i will point Orlais debatably has the strongest military in Thedas.

Not until their current political difficulties are dealt with that will most likely result in civil war for Nevarra.

I think they do need a homeland to call their own. I'm hoping that dales will be completely theirs.

As i said it can go in any direction perhaps we will get chance to influence that (i doubt it will happen in orginal game sooner dlc).

I said that i prefer Gaspard over Celene not Celene over gaspard but only when i would be forced to chose.For me for now he is almost in every way better than she is and it would take something heavey to change that.

It is about their homeland we only discuss who will destroy if elves will go in war with orlais trying to get homeland.Pretty much most of this thread was about whether orlais will or not crush elves.

Well, its relevant to discussion if you look at it in the light of A: Them not needing a homeland if they are all corpses or B: After another war Humanity just tired of the rebellion and just stuffed the entire race on a reservation.

Elves don't do neighbors very well.  How about an Island?  There must be an Island that could work.

Well to be honest i wonder if they could try luck on the deep roads (if they united) sure darkspawn but they wouldn't have problems with humans pretty much dwarves don't have even half of those problems with humans that elves have.
