Alistair doesn't display any.
Has that, even been confirmed yet?
I haven't heard anything about a dev coming out and stating he was the child of Fiona and Maric.

Well, they do tend to have slighter frames and delicate features... I think Feynriel had big eyes, for a human (Going by DA2 elf standards)
There isn't a noticeable difference, since no one can distinguish the difference between the children of humans and elves because they are technically human; the developers have said this, and this is pointed out in "The Calling" and "The Masked Empire", the latter of which has a person masquerading as a noble human because it's impossible to tell the person had an elven mother.
Based on TME, there's nothing delicate about Ser Michel de Chevin.
He ruined Gaspard's fighting career
Tevinter curse? They sank Arlathan; extremely huge effects were clearly not beyond them.

I don't know, *squint* his features look sorta delicate to me...

A dev did state he was elf blooded though.

I know, I'm just contesting the idea that they display no elven traits at all. Even if it isn't enough to set them apart from humans at a glance, that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Considering the fact that the developers already stated that the children are human, I don't see why you think they would.
They actually need allies first, how would a nation survive on it's own unless it had immense amounts of power?
Question is do they need their homeland, not can they get a homeland.
Tevinter curse? They sank Arlathan; extremely huge effects were clearly not beyond them.
Yeah but that's altering the physical world in one big go, altering every elf ever born from then on is a tad more

I don't doubt they're human, just that they don't display any characteristics of their elven parents.

They're obviously not clones of their human parent. I expect things like hair and eye color are still inheritable.
Yeah but that's altering the physical world in one big go, altering every elf ever born from then on is a tad more
What about an elven curse? Something intended to keep things like Eluvian travel out of human hands? (Michel didn't seem any better off than Celene or Gaspard when he tried it)

I would spend an extended amount of time laughing.

Given the engine used in the first game, it's likely we weren't able to see any elven traits in elf-blooded humans like Alistair and Slim Cauldry until the second game.

but if Alistair was too elvish looking the Bannorn would have likely taken issue

It was confirmed that he was elfblooded, and I'm fairly sure his being Fiona's son was as well.

All you need to do is alter their genetic code... or, as Tevinter would think of it, their blood.
well not really.... like at all....
if there is continued inter-mingling of elven and human populations the outcome will be more humans, same with the other races.
None of that is at all related to whether elves deserve a homeland
Intermingling between Horses and Donkeys hasn't lead to eithers extinction yet. Just because two races can interbreed does not mean that either will eventually go extinct (anymore than any other race will also go extinct anyway).

Gaider said that "elf-blooded" humans (which is a term he said is used to identify the children of humans and elves) look fully human, which is how they can hide their heritage and blend in among humans.

Well, nobody can tell at a glance.

Good thing he wasn't.

Only tangentially related, but I wonder what the child of an elf and someone who is half elf would look like (i. e. three quarters elf).
There is no such thing as a "half-elf" so it would look entirely human.

I know they look human, I'm just saying that they can and do possess traits from their elven parents without obviously setting themselves apart.

You don't see elven traits because the children of elves and humans are human; it's why this is a controversial issue, despite some of the absurdity that ensues when some people act as though elves are simply humans with different ears, when they are two different races. I also don't see why some people are trying to contest what's been explicitly addressed by the developers and the novels, including the most recent one that included an "elven blooded" human.

It actually does make sense if you think about it, considering they were able to make things like the Eluvians that only work properly for elves.

Nobody's contesting that they're not human, just that they sometimes demonstrate certain traits from their elven parent, traits that don't set them apart from humans but still are there.
