So you'd rather every single person on Thedas die, than not get an eleven homeland?
I'm trying to think of a more narcissistic and childish idea, but not much is coming up

At least it is consistent with the Dalish of the Second Blight. They'd rather the Darkspawn had eradicated all other life on Thedas than help the humans.

Saving Orlais isn't the plot. Gathering the forces necessary to save the world, however, is. And Just like Mages vs Templars, you've got Celene vs Gaspard. There might be a way to get some Elven assistance as well as Orlesian, but you'll still have to take Orlesian help.

Until Inquisition comes out, or a developer actually says that is the case, we don't know whether or not the Inquisition will require the assistance of Orlais.

I am amused that you would believe I don't want more options. I thought I had made it clear that, unlike some people, I play all sides of the various conflicts offered in the games. I don't restrict myself to just pro-Mage playthroughs, for example. I'll also do a Pro-Templar one. I've played all three outcomes of the Elf/Werewolf conflict, and all the Dwarven outcomes as well.

Let's not pretend as though we don't already have a plethora of people who despise the Dalish already make the case that they don't think there should be any pro-elven options.

But I don't expect them to give me choices that don't make sense to their narrative. I think It's great that we'll have new races. I look forward to seeing how various NPCs react to my Qunari, dwarf, human and elf inquisitors. I don't expect them to have completely rewritten huge sections of the game to address racial pet projects.

I don't think it'll break the narrative to play as a character who doesn't save the status quo of the Orlesian Empire.

Wow, I no longer feel bad about pointing out all the flaws of the Dalish.

If they are even close to this kind of mentality ingame, screw them. I'll try helping the City Elves get better treatment instead.

Considering that the game continues after the main quest is concluded, I doubt dangerous spirits would take over Thedas if the Orlesian Empire fell. It may simply be a regional defeat.

If that were the case, I would gladly let Orlais deal with its own problems... I'd need a pretty good in-game reason to get involved, but at this point I don't see any of my potential Inquisitors caring about what happens there.

The benefits of living among humans is that it makes you open minded.

Welcome to the conversation!

Most of the people who hate the Dalish are either neutral to or in support of the City Elves.

Bunch of elitist whinny racists.

Yeah, because while they see the bad of humans they also see the good. Meanwhile sealing themselves off the Dalish, well most of the clans anyway since the ones in Rivain actually live in peace with the Rivaini people, really only see the bad.

What you propose is so not going to happen in the game. I guess you can just load it up play a level or two, find out you can't do that, then just stop playing

Then I will let the demons win and move to my others Inquisitors; the Mage freedom apologist, the True neutral, the Mage spremacist, the Anti-mage, the Andrastian, etc...

Wow, I guess all the things I've been saying about the Dalish are more accurate than I thought.

For the good of Thedas the clans should be purged.

Any group that self-centered doesn't deserve to exist.

Of course, because how I chose to roleplay one of my PC has any relevance with Bioware's lore

Good job failing at logic.

The Emerald Knights during the Second Blight didn't step in during a crisis against a neighbor who was an enemy, and who had conquered the other city-states in a series of Exalted Marches. The fact that some of us have no interest in maintaining the status quo of the Orlesian Empire isn't comparable, as Gaspard and Celene are rather repugnant individuals, and the Orlesian system is one that has permitted chevaliers to rape and murder people.

Also, it's been pointed out that some of us would prefer an alternative to Celene and Gaspard, as helping maintain the status quo of the Orlesian Empire is simply out of the question.

The Dalish don't even deserve the great honor of serving as a protectorate of the Empire.

Got to say, This little diatribe on the Dalish does have me looking forward to release so people can learn that half the choices they wanted to make aren't even present.

If you were a true Dalish, you'd save everyone and then rub it in their face that an elf saved the world.

Well, if I'm wrong, I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to add another playthrough to my queue and get more value for my money. I'm curious what people who are so invested in their factions that they can't play any other way are going to do if things don't turn out how they want.

Yeah, some of us actually find the Orlesian system that permits murder, rape, and mass executions against elven men, women, and children to be a serious problem. You'll have to excuse me for expressing the opinion that helping maintain this regime is simply out of the question.

T_T I just hope that well, you can somewhat aid a few causes and i'll be content with that.

>_> Just because you can't Marshal the Inquisition under the banner of the Templars, doesn't mean you can't rig the odds  in their favor hopefully.

Just so that my own perspective is clear, I'm only here to argue in favor of an elven homeland.  I like to play a wide variety of characters with different goals and personalities, so as far as the game goes, I'm pretty open minded.  I don't expect that everything that I personally want to see will happen in the games... it hasn't thus far, and I still play them... lol

I never said I hated the Dalish. I hate some things they do, but that's it. Don't put words in my mouth.

And you think I don't? I do believe in the post you just quoted I said I wanted to help the elves get better treatment. But I'm not going to be "They won't change, so let them all die." That's worse than anything those people have done. Especially since most are innocent people caught in the crossfire.
