Okay, so it's about even with Diplomacy and Ignore.

For those who chose Diplomacy: Anora and Alistair listen to Josephine's arguments and feel that aiding Celene would be the best idea at the time provided The Inquisition aids in defending Ferelden.  Alistair also adds that the coffers are open to the Inquisition for these purposes.

D: Accept these terms and use that money to buy good will from the people in the hopes that one day they'll come to your aid.

E: Accept these terms and use that money to pay off people within the Red Templars to tell you any weaknesses within their orginazation.

W: Accept these terms and use that money to better equip your army, then make a move to retake Redcliff Castle.

Double War: Reject the terms and launch a surprise attack on the king and queen.

For those who chose to ignore:  The Ash Warriors part with your company, but do not make a move against you.  You push against the Red Templars while they're weakened, and take over Redcliff.  A few weeks pass as you turn the red lyrium into runes and close up all the tears in the vale.  A scout returns to the castle and tells you that a group of ships are arriving from Orlais.  They haven't attacked, but they haven't sent a treaty either.

D: Send a diplomatic envoy to negotiate an agreement between the ships and Ferelden while keeping your forces primed just in case.

E:  Discover who the ships belong to, and if they're someone who wants to invade Ferelden, Sabotage.

W: Send mages and fire archers to set the ships ablaze (Leliana is the only good thing to ever come out of Orlais).

I'll probably chose E, so I can discover thier sicret agenda (everybody has one), find blood mages, and put the qulefide person on the throne. In my opinion people who are the best ruler don't want the job, because they understand the responsabilty assosiated with it. I think rulling is about puting other peoples warfar before yours and thats not something everybody is capable of doing...

Ignore -----> Espionage.  Not interested in negotiating until I know that I'm at a disadvantage.

Diplomacy for mages, War for Templars.

This is probably me as well. I would most likely choose Diplomacy in this situation (the OP), but I will use war a lot throughout the game.

Diplomacy. It makes the most sense and it is the most efficient, resource wise.

At this point, I'd actually go for Recliffe after equipping. So war. If I get it, I gain a potential base of operations or a bargaining chip to use with the King and Queen.

Essentially I'd go with Diplomacy.   The deal negotiated sounds very much like what the Circle had with the Wardens in DAO.   It worked well enough then so I see no reason why it shouldn't in the future.    It is also the quickest and the most economical use of resources.   The other options only become viable/necessary if all attempts at diplomacy fail.

Exactly - hell, even military tacticians (like von Clausewitz who said: "War is only the continuation of diplomacy by other means!" (translated that myself, didn't want to look it up, as I know the German quote by heart)) agree that wars should only be fought if everything else (from diplomacy to espionage, blackmail/extortion and assassination) fails, as war is way messier and kills way more people!

greetings LAX

Espionage! It's the funest option. Oh I chose diplomacy before just in case it matters.

Im new to this board but I go with

W: Accept these terms and use that money to better equip your army, then make a move to retake Redcliff Castle

Getting on good tearms with 2 nations rulers was reason enough to negotiate (also I can keep on Morgans good side a wise move because she is dangerous lets not forget that), but having the resources to take over a vital location as Rebcliff (fought for generations bloodly between both nations for military location and vital trade). Then getting to keep it  for self a golden opportunity for the incusition.

War for multiple reasons.

I need reliable allies. Giving away money in the hopes that I'll get support is not an option. I need definitive support or stay out of my way.

I would think about espionage to bribe Red Templars but they seem fanatics. Again, nothing is for sure and I won't waste the Inquisition's resources so easily.

King Calenhad has been quoted as saying "The fate of Redcliffe is the fate of Fereldan". It's a highly valuable position and one that must be secured at all costs.
