I can't play him as a weapons platform. As his two brother handle that department for me, especially the Geth Egineer which is my fave kit + I can play him with any weapon too to greater enjoyment. For the GI, he must be set up for sniping. 65663. Plus this way I can still play him without a SR too anyways. But sniping with him is where it's at. Javelin being the best on him of course. Every time I spec him out of SR I regret it.
Other then that, I find him I little too cheesy for Gold with certain setups (Jave included), so playing him with a bit weaker weapons is the way to go for me personally. But in the end I really play with the Geth Engineer the most these days. Even the Trooper is starting to get some more playtime from me these days.

Claymore GI. It definitely feels like a power trip when playing with this guy. You just kill everything in your path like a juggernaut (no pun intended).

Why do you need shield recharge speed when there's nothing alive to touch your shields?
I don't understand how the GI makes people feel dirty. As long as the enemy dies, why does it matter if the build they are using is a little OP? Dead is dead in my eyes.
GI is only ridiculous when you start putting Cyclonics on. Without them, he still puts out insane damage, but he can actually die if something hits him.

You don't think that going from 375 to 1500 shields is a big difference?
The GI was built as a glass cannon, and that's why he never received any significant nerf. But Cyclonics fix his only weakness and just turn him into a cannon. With 1500 shield you don't constantly need RHA, you can actually play more aggressive vs mooks that would otherwise down you instantly.

- Rank 3 damage bonus decreased from 5% to 2.5%
- Base vision range decreased from 20 meters to 15 meters
- Evolution 5 vision range bonus increased from 50% to 60%
Tactical Cloak Power
- Base duration decreased from 8 to 4 seconds
- Evolution 1 duration bonus increased from 50% to 150%
- Base damage bonus decreased from 50% to 40%
- Evolution 6 sniper rifle damage bonus decreased from 40% to 25%
Those are some pretty good nerfs. The reasons it didn't get more nerfs was because very few people use the GI in actuality and if they were to nerf anything else it would be even more of a nerf to other classes than it would be to the GI.

17.5% less damage (+15% multiplicative for snipers), 6m less HM wallhacks, and some TC duration nerfs which only really matter on devices. While I agree that those are nerfs, they really didn't do that much to the GI. Which is why I specifically said "he never received any significant nerf".
If you're half decent in this game, 375 shields on the GI is exactly the same amount of 17890...
How are you meant to measure skill on this game?
I do understand your point though, shields are pretty pointless unless you start going beyond 1000, where you can actually start taking a hit from something without getting gated. 350 to 1500 shields is a pretty big bonus, and it makes the GI easier to play. He's still definitely top tier with just the 350 shields, but negating his only weakness with a Cyclonic is what puts him beyond everything else.
If you're able to play a 350 shield GI without going down the entire game, then well done to you I guess. I know I can't, some mook will down me instantly in the first few waves, or if I'm offhost, I'll get behind cover then get teleported back 5 feet into the open and die ![]()

Notice I said "pretty good" and not "significant"? You are still wrong at why he didn't receive any "significant" nerfs, which is what my post was addressing. Besides, name another non-Geth class that received a 17.5% damage nerf (yes, with a huge 15% multiplicative bonus) and never received a buff.
I think 3 in Advanced Hardware is better than 0 on the sniper build. For the other builds you don't have a huge difference between Advanced Hardware 4 and 5 and can get away with the extra PM damage if you want. Advanced Hardware is basically the only fitness that gives you shield regen bonuses before rank 5.
