Maybe by increasing the Warden numbers they're able to help the Inquisition
I'd be behind that.

It's finally up! See what you may have missed from the Gamescom Demo!

are you going to do one of these for the IGN video?
There wasn't too much when I watched it. I added a few small things at the end of the video. Remember it's not an pure analysis, it's videos that focus on what you may have missed. I was half dead when I watched it though, I'll watch it again soon, and if I suddenly notice some substantial stuff, I'll make a video. ![]()
Has anyone talked about how they confirmed "non-standard" Game Overs? Because I like that addition.
Youtube Link. Topic about party dying starts at 9:09, confirmation of "non-standard' game overs at 9:24.
Did they have something like that in previous Dragon Age games? I know they did in Mass Effect (Morinth comes to mind), but I can't remember if Dragon Age had any.

Allan Schumacher somewhat frequently mentioned his favorable attitude towards nonstandard failure states, I actually had a sneaking suspicion that DA:I would use them. In terms of a standard of evidence, that's basically beheading the chicken and seeing where it stops flopping around, but now with official confirmation.
It isn't exactly new though right? Mass Effect 2 had one stuffed in even post game. Personally the idea is appealing to me, but like anything, it hinges more on execution that concept.
As an aside note, I'd really like to know if the Armor Values in DA:I's demo were buffed for demonstration purposes. Blackwall and the Inquisitor seemed to have AR in the mid 200's, while enemies of roughly the same level had like 34-50? I think that may have been contributing to why it seemed so easy, particularly in IGN's showing... I don't think any of the party took damage.
They do that so they can't fail and waste time. Basically God Mode so they can show off the game. Hopefully no one got the idea the game would be that easy.

I wanted to assume that, but typically it's clarified pretty fast and in this instance I haven't heard an official source say that God Mode was on, or that the Demo was tuned in a particular way.
From the original Gamescom showing at EA's press conference, The Hand of Korth (is that right?) was pretty fearsome, nearly killing Cole and Solas with just a handful of attacks. I'd imagine they would have died, but it definitely seemed like KO was toggled off.

I've seen posts where they say they have it on a level even below easy. This is don't suck and die mode for sure.
Played the DAI demo at the EA Community Lounge today.
First thing, the reason why we've seen no keyboard/mouse gameplay yet is because the interface isn't ready yet. I consequently found out I can't even properly walk around ingame using the XBone controller.
Cross class combos are making a return.
Not a fan of the ability trees. They implemented a system that looks like a mixture of DAO and DAII, in the way that progression is more linear compared to DAII's ability webs.
Can't give a solid impression about the combat, because I was mostly battling with the controls and camera ... here I'll have to defer to the gameplay videos. I do find the new pace is well balanced in that regard. Not as hectic as in DAI, not as slow paced as in DAO, but right in between.
Very good artistic level design. The bog felt boggy, the occasional lightning hitting nearby feels and sounds physical. People with good audio systems will enjoy this massively. A very large thank you to the audio team at this point. Brilliant work for everything we've seen yet, keep up the good work!
Thirty minutes playtime was much, much too little to even appreciate the small demo we had. I have little doubts that when they say the game will be massive, they really mean it.
Addendum:
Regarding the gameplay difficulty as I've seen a couple question about that:
The gameplay balance is not yet done. The team is still working on properly balancing everything.
ddi we get called 'Herald of Andrastre?' if so how the hell can we oppose the maker or express doubt as we where told we would be able to? I mean we just got named the herald of the greatest monster in the entire series....

It took me a second to register that Hawke wasn't a hallucination from sleep deprivation. ![]()
The thumbnail though. hahaha
Thats awesome
But... are we going to use those treaties to enlist armies again?! (Probably not, because that was the whole plot of DAO...)
Hmm, maybe it can affect whatever is going on with the Grey Wardens. And I'm curious about how we got the treaties in the first place.
Maybe it's the other way around? in order to gain the support of the wardens maybe you can add the inquisition into the treaties as one of the groups obligated to help the wardens during a blight.

I kind of like this idea. It makes sense that this would be the case, a good compromise as it were. Immediate gains for the Inquisition but with the promise of aid when ti comes to the GW's main mission, whenever need arises.
Interesting to note that in the IGN demo, The Hand glowed to life when the Inquisitrix neared a Fade Tear.... which makes sense: so it doesn't freak people out all the time ![]()
What do you guys think is the likelihood they'll do something for PAX Prime?

Didn't they show gameplay footage last year? It was the Crestwood demo.
Would be funny if they show it again, but this time to show how much the game has changed.

I do wonder why people are so bothered by what the Inquisitor will be called. People should take some lessons from Tywin Lannister and not bother with other people's opinions of themselves.

Interesting though. I do wonder if that kind of situation where you accept their proposal leads to an easier way for a working relations, while rejecting to be part of the treaty requires the Inquisitor to find a work around to the situation and find other means to get the Wardens support that may prove more difficult.
