I am actually planning on going to Germany in August and attend the Gamescom for the very first time. Most excited about CD Project and the Witcher but certainly looking forward on seeing some Dragon Age in action.
By the way, how many here have attended in the past and can tell about their experiences to us novices?
Please don't get your hopes up. Gamescom never fails to make me feel like a peasant. You essentially pay for waiting (and sitting) in line, because that's what you'll do 90% of the time, unless you have a VIP-pass.
But I AM a peasant
I don't really plan to try out games... guess the waiting will be less in that case? I just like to walk around a bit and probably hang out at the bioware booth till they get tired of me and kick me out.
In this case you won't be dissapointed. There's always something going there. My most illuminating gamescom experience was when an overly euphoric game promoter accidentally hit me in the face with a safety jacket (their giveaways) while trying to excite people for this game

Because they're fun.
The big reveal for Gamescon? Multiplayer!
(Yeah, I said it.
)
Because they're fun.
Fun? ahahahahahahahahaha. Ha.
Hey thread, they released the time for EA's press conference at Gamescom!
Wednesday, August 13 at 10am Cologne time.
It goes for two hours.
I've made a countdown timer for the event here.
And here is the press conference time in your local timezone:

Added to OP:
9 AM, alright ![]()
I may be getting a little giddy for what Bioware will show.
It's going to be so weird watching a live stream at six in the evening instead of sitting up until three or four in the morning
.
Added to OP:
Not 4 am! I'm at work at that time.
Was looking forward to watching the stream but I'll make due with catching up on it all when I get off work.
10 AM for me. Ha, it's so good to be on summer break! I can just get a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the stream.
Added to OP:
- EA will have a 2 hour long press conference
- The conference promises the latest updates and trailers from upcoming games
- The conference will be livestreamed
3 AM...
Well, looks like it'll be an all-nighter for me, then. ![]()

We can suffer together.
3 PM for me. ![]()
But I have super slow internet, so I wouldn't be able to watch it live anyway. ![]()

Could chill at a coffee shop for 2 hours.
I'm just going to go ahead and preemptively thank the people who will eventually wind up posting edited videos that just cover the DAI sections of the presentation, for the benefit of people like me who will be sleeping. Much obliged.
This is why I love people like Ashe, Gamermd83, Ability Drain, Scottish Warrior, Mr Shizno etc. on YouTube.

...You're at work at 4am....
I'm sorry.
(East coast represent)
4am?!?! There's no way. There's NO WAY. I'm too old.
Maybe I'll try though. I don't know if it'll be as exciting reading e recaps on the forums lmao. Who will bring me a venti salted caramel mocha?
A parade of Misplaced Nugs bringing fancy coffee. WILL DO. DONE
