Could it be that we'll be designing them in game? Like the character creator asks if we want to use the defaults or create our own. 

I just hope they don't make us use the pregens. That is not my Warden, and I do not want him standing in for any of my Wardens. (Especially not the female non-humans.)

 

(Could care less about Hawke's face, though, since I've never played DA2. Someone who has would of course have the right to be twice as ticked off as I am if the faces are pregenerated.)

I'll be pleasantly surprised if that does happen. And also mildly concerned. I used a LOT of mods for my Hawkes and Wardens. ._.

I'm excited about the Avvar being in the game and hope that one Avvar warrior being able to join their army means they won't just be random baddies to kill but that we'll get to learn a little more about them.

 

Who is supposed to be the Warden and Hawke in the trailer? I missed them. Did see an elf mage at 1:07 that I initially thought was the Inquisitor. Is she supposed to be the Warden?

You can watch the parts you missed on the ea stream, just rewind and it lets you watch it without stuttering - that's what I did. You beat the Avvar leader around 1:40/50-ish. Note, you need to pull the circle to move the stream back, not click somewhere on the bar (at least I did).

Um, wait, how on earth can anyone tell that the Warden is in the new trailer? I saw female Hawke because she has a clearly identifiable default appearance, but the Warden from DAO has never had a single definite default appearance. If people are referring to the guy who ran up alongside the female Hawke, that could just as easily have been Alistair, although I almost hope that isn't him because he's a sorry excuse for the much better looking Alistair from DAO.

 

And how could anyone tell that Blackwall spoke? The only clearly identifiable companions' voices I heard were Cole's and Dorian's.

Hawke's I have less isue with because that's "Varric's Hawke" the cool badass with the messy black hair and blood on her nose, if we're hearing the story second hand I can imagine that Hawke as a stand in.

 

I have a bigger issue with the Warden, seeing as how their was more more variety in their customization.

Since the canon warden is a female elf there's obviously some customization going on.  Not sure how far it goes... but at least we know they're there now. 

But isn't the default Warden a female elf that does the Ultimate Sacrifice? Meaning, she'd be dead unless that trailer footage is some Fade dream or Varric Pipe Dream Story?

 

Its probably just taken from some custom world state BioWare created.

 

If they canonized the looks for the Warden and Hawke I'd be kind of pissed. If only because BioWare is talking a big game on customizing everything and making it your own in DA:I and yet they'd stick you with cameos of returning PCs where they're visually left as generic stock characters? That would really suck.

I believe the Herald is the Inquisitor.

 

The Herald of Andraste. 

 

I hope we can choose what we're the herald of. So there's a few "herald" options.
