You're dead wrong. Gal Gadot is former IDF and is trained in Krav Maga. Modeling came after her military career.
She won Miss israel when she was 19.... She had a long fighting/military career
..You're not going to change my opinion of hollywood.
She's everything, but not the female version of Iko Uwais.
Regardless. Hollywood action movie bore me.
The movie ran through me
The glamour subdued me
The tabloid untied me
I'm empty please fill me
( I had this on the back of my mind lol )..
They have no credibility.

It's compulsory military service, so that's not long.

A question for you people: how would you feel if Gina Carano was wonder woman instead?

I have no problems with Gal Gadot, I have problems with Zack Snyder.
Heath Ledger got nerdrage when he was cast as the Joker because of his teenage heartthrob roles, and look how that turned out. So I don't criticise people in roles cast until I've seen them.

My issue though isn't really her high heels, it's mostly her dress and the body. Would prefer a more muscular wonder woman.
Dang edits!
The dress doesn't both me as much, since it looks Amazonian enough (Let's face it Greeks in general were never really armored up that much)
Would've been nice if they had put some leggings on her though.

I would've liked someone more muscular as well, but what's done is done.

I think the issue here it's mostly about the look than the actress herself. I know Gal is a good actress, i've seen her in other roles. But..... i've been used to a muscular wonder woman.
Like the WW from the game Injustice.
Yessssss
I knew it.

After Kenneth Branagh's movie castings, I can handle anything.

Gina Carano can't act to save her life. I liked that one movie she was in that she kicked everyone's ass for an hour and thirty, but the story telling and acting were Ong Bak levels. Meaning there wasn't any. I want to see someone kick someone else's ass I'll watch a boxing or UFC match. If they're going for Wonder Woman they need to be more than a fighter.

I like this. "Wonder Woman" is first and foremost an amazon of Greek mythology (and a princess). While I enjoyed the original movie/TV series I never liked her stars and stripes outfit.

Beast Machines and Armada were worse.
Also what does that have to do with Wonder Woman?

Rebecca Da Costa. 5'11". She'd need some voice coaching though

The Stars, Stripes and Eagle are part of her origin story. She wears them to honor her adopted country in the world of men.

Meh. Cobie Smulders would have made a better Wonder Woman and a FemShep.

So far Batman actor isn't very promising, Superman actor is good imo and Gal Gadot doesn't look like typical Wonder Woman but might be good.
Conclusion?

From what I've heard from SDCC this year Ben Affleck is taking this very seriously. The B v S cast weren't there for long, but dude was getting his method acting on. And he's gotten huge.
I think he took all the criticism and backlash to heart and will probably give the part 200%. And I think that'll be more than enough knowing that he's one of the top contemporary filmmakers in the industry right now.

I have a hunch about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:
I believe casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman will turn out to be a big mistake. Gal Gadot (who is Israeli) is a very outspoken supporter of Israel and Israeli military actions, and Israel supporters are already using her casting as Wonder Woman for nationalistic propaganda. I predict people will call for an international boycott and even ban of the movie when it comes out. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman will be the reason. The boycott will not have much of an impact inside the USA as Americans are very pro-Israel. However, outside the US in the rest of the world where people have increasingly unfavorable view of Israel in the Gaza conflicts, Gal Gadot will definitely hurt the movie.
The movie already suffers from an under-performance of the first movie (Man of Steel) and a series of bad press. People will bring up what Gal Gadot has said, and that will definitely have some impacts at the international box office. Many Muslim countries will likely straight out ban the movie. I conjecture the movie will end up earning less than $600 million: $200 to $300 mil in North America, and another $200 to $400 mil from overseas markets. Most likely, I think it will earn about $300 mil overseas. So my best guess for the total tally: closer to $500 mil. The boycott will likely cripple if not kill the DC movie franchises altogether.
Just remember: you hear it here from me first.
P.S. The box office outcome will definitely hurt Time Warner. Time Warner's share prices will drop as a result. Rupert Murdoch will use the opportunity to make another attempt to buy Time Warner, (if he does not already own Time Warner by then.) As much as I despise Rupert Murdoch, I think it will be difficult for Time Warner to say no. The company will be under tremendous shareholder pressure to rejuvenate its stock prices. Rupert Murdoch will own Time Warner and CNN. Damn.

The costume and everything looks superb, but for some reason I'm not sold on her face/hair. It's missing a certain majestic, regal quality to it. She's not just any Amazonian warrior, she's the warrior princess, her very aura should ooze presence. That, as well as the fact that this is a super hero movie, everything is larger than life by nature.
I was expecting more voluminous hair, larger waves. For her face shape, the crown should cover less of her forehead, because the intensity of her eyes and arched eyebrows are lost. These are just nitpicky aesthetic details, I'm sure her acting will compensate for what they missed with the hair/makeup shown in this picture.
