We know that the Orlesian Warden's are up to something and are being looked at by the Inquisition but what about the Ferelden Wardens? What effects will our Wardens have on them? How long did the Warden stay Warden-Commander and what happens to the order after he/she goes missing? What do you guys think?
What are the Ferelden Grey Wardens up to in DAI?

You know doing Grey Warden things...
On a serious note one of the epilogue cards in Awakening is that the Warden leaves doing their own thing. And from the looks of the trailer(s) and Blackwall's attitude they are doing some things that aren't completely agreeable. I just want them to cover the whole awakened darkspawn bit since that was all I could think about whenever they popped up in DA2 stating that they were too busy dealing with something important or Howe mentioning something of new allies/secret business.

Hopefully we see all of them.. Yes, all, lol, every last one of them. I love that DA:A group. They'd be pretty spread out though.

It will be interesting to see if Alistair and Bethany show up at some point. That was one of my favorite scene in DA2. When you see both of them together toward the end of Act 2.

I figure now that the Warden-Commander has vanished, the group will just do whatever the replacement leader tells them... so basically they'll be following whatever secret plan the Orlesian wardens are involved in. They still report to Weishaupt (sp?), right?

Well my warden left wardens after daa (as well dao) so well they had replacement for long time.
Besides he never trusted wardens especially first.

We'll definitely see Alistair and I've been wondering if Bethany will show up since she has ties to either the mages and or the Grey Wardens.

I wonder how long was the Warden the Warden-Commander? We know at least 2 years because in Witch Hunt, if you imported from Awakening the Templars in the Circle address you as Warden-Commander.

The Warden has disappeared by 9:40, but the Grey Wardens are a hierarchical organization, so there will be another Warden-Commander at Amaranthine, I think.
Also, WoT pretty much says that every region's Warden-Commander runs their branch or the order as they see fit, with the duty to report annually to the Chamberlain of Weisshaupt. That means that whatever the Orlesian Wardens are doing, it probably hasn't anything to do with the Fereldan Wardens.

Interesting... well in that case, I suppose they're just hanging around and sparring. Maybe having a going away party for some of the senior members before their Callings? I'm not even sure what they are normally supposed to be doing aside from preparing for and ending Blights...

Are the Wardens that fractured by the end of DA2? It didn't seem like that to me so whatever the Orlesian Wardens are doing would have to be ordered by their leadership in Weisshaupt would tell them to do.

In my case, my Warden left pretty much right after Awakening, so with any luck she has nothing to do with whatever the organization as a whole is up to.

In my head canon, the Ferelden wardens are doing regular missions into the deep roads to keep Darkspawn in check and help out the king of Ferelden's allies and trading partners in Orzammar to boot. (Bhelen's the dwarf ruler in my canon playthrough, so there will be increased trade between humans and dwarves).
Anderfels wardens are always fighting Darkspawn because Anderfels is permanently overrun by them, and it didn't make any sort of sense to me to be recruiting Grey Wardens in between Blights and NOT send them down into the deep roads to fight Darkspawn in Ferelden... I mean, you've sentenced them to death anyway by putting them through the Joining. Might as well give their lives meaning by having them do what they're meant to do. Regular deep roads expeditions would be good training grounds and maybe also give the wardens an edge when the next archdemon starts rumbling in the deeps, because they might see changes in Darkspawn behaviour (like abandoning breeding grounds and moving en masse towards a single point underground... ![]()

I played as my Warden. I'll replay it again to check, I'm 90% sure that's what he was referred to if I imported from Awakening.

I think I have an Orlesian warden save and I'm curious now. Let me check.
Edit: per the wiki http://dragonage.wik...gue_(Awakening)
- If the Warden-Commander is from Orlais, the Warden can serve as Warden Commander at Vigil's Keep for a time before finally being called by the Order to the Grey Warden headquarters at Weisshaupt. Rumor has it that there is a new Blight there. The Warden never returns to Vigil's Keep again.
- The Warden-Commander might simply just vanish for reasons unknown and there too they will say that "neither does anyone think their tale is complete..."

[My] the Warden disappears in 9:33 through the Eluvian with Morrigan and again in between 9:37-9:40. Nathaniel Howe is the new Warden-Commander of Ferelden (if he's alive). Mark my words.

Well all my playthroughs my wardens have pretty much left, one even went through the mirror with morrigan.
So whoever the new warden commander is will set thingss up.

My Warden Commander went through the Eluvian on a Magical Mystery Tour, but I would give so much to see Loghain doing Warden Things in Orlais or Ferelden in DAI. That would be the best. I'm just imagining him, Leliana and Morrigan in Orlais reminiscing over the good old days while Loghain keeps jawing on about how much he hates having been assigned there.
Good times.

My Warden did go through the Eluvian with his love Morrigan but traveled to Denerim in 9:37 to meet with his best friend King Alistair. Then I assume he went missing soon after or sometime in between 9:38 and 9:40.

Unless DA:I explicitely tells me otherwise, I know exactly where my Warden-Commander is: Weisshaupt. After Carver came back from his time in the Free Marches with very worrying news of the Wardens' shenannigans with Corypheus at Vimmark, the Commander had to go confabulate with the higher ups. Sentient ancient darkspawn from the dawn of time capable of corrupting and manipulating Grey Wardens en masse is no joke.
While the Commander is away, Warden-Constable Nathaniel is running the house. Business as usual - conscripting criminals, runaways and all manner of social rejects into the Wardens, training recruits to exhaustion so they don't die on their first mission, sending patrols into dark chasms, abandoned thaigs and occasional breaches into Deep Roads, sending templars away when they come harass the Commander for facilitating that maleficar Anders' escape a million years ago, and overseeing the various Very Top Secret Uber Classified researches being conducted in Ferelden by the Commander's orders that only a handful people must know about.
So, you know. Wardens doing Warden things. Killing darkspawn, making questionable choices.
