Can we get a sticky up in here that outlines a good format for requests?

Like:

Title:
Platform/GT/Time zone

Body:
Platform
ID
Time zone
Normally played days/times
Difficulty levels
Mic y/n
Etc.

It'd really help people match up faster.

Thought: this sub forum would almost certainly be more heavily utilised if there were some sticky pointers on how to use it to get good teammates.

 

As it is, there are plenty of teammate request threads in Combat Strategy that would be here but for those eggs and these chickens.

I agree with Bryan on this unfortunately. The players who these new guys would be looking for to help them out just aren't active enough to justify a sticky, myself included. I play but I hardly ever use BWF any more aside from challenges and messaging friends.

A short sticky would take 2 minutes of someone's time and it would help point people in the right direction.

 

No one is asking anyone to paint the Eiffel Tower.

Look at the thread I posted recently.  In a very short time, I have over 20 "friends."  Some have extremely high ratings and have been patient, kind, and helpful.  The games have been great.  A sticky might have made it even more successful, and at the very least, it would consolidate these kinds of requests into one thread, keeping the forum a bit cleaner.

I haven't been back very long, but this place hasn't changed, faces have, but policy is still the same.  It's not about us, really.n  Just a business necessity.

 

Since we have a suck-up on a first-name basis with staff posting his alignment, I thought I'd post mine, alongside my friend.

I'm a former senior mod over at totalwar.org.  Left when TosaInu died.  Glad to know we did things so much better, and that our patrons were happier.

I didn't mean to stir up any trouble. I think a sticky would help, and that there's enough activity here to warrant it, but if the mods don't want one, I'm okay with that.

Perhaps it is.  I don't know Clyde; apparently you do.  I was basing my ire strictly on what I see in this thread.  Good of you to stand by your friend.  If there's a next time I'll review profile post history to get a sense of the person before I post something like that, to avoid being unfairly judgmental.

I will admit that I was triggered very negatively by the path this thread took.  I'm extremely sensitive to bureaucratic behavior, having had to deal with it for decades, and I get frustrated when it's over something petty, something easy to resolve that takes virtually no effort that might actually help people.  I suffer from a (relatively mild, but enough to be considered disabled now) mental condition that resulted from dealing with decades of crap like this.  In my former capacity, I was positioned to do something about it any time I saw it.  Not now, and not here.

Clyde: I apologize for my remark towards you.  It seems you didn't intend it the way I took it.

 

I will excuse myself from this board for a while.  Best thing to do when it starts grating on sensitivities, as I certainly don't need to participate here to make use of it for why I came--game information and cool players to run with.  I have more than enough "friends" now and will surely meet more through them.

Crash, you didn't stir up any trouble; you made a request looking to improve things for us patrons.  That's a very good thing.

I'm the one who got hot and snappy.
