Pirating is not a known feature and is off-topic and also makes me sad.

The clone story was a metaphor.
Toodeep4u.
Breach that darkness. Dig the wrong way. Wake up. Breathe. CAT6 Shepard stealing our Shepard's identity. etc etc mindf***
No, that was sarcasm.

Well, one could just borrow a friend's copy. Often this is effectively the same thing (on the micro scale), and its older than pirating. Still get to play a game. Still didn't pay for it. Gamers - entitled since the 70s. Like film and televisions watchers. Like book readers. Stealin all that media, since ever.
I'm reading the interesting discussion and I don't have a definite word about it.
I just wanted to add that the same happened when one recorded a music from the radio on his cassette recorder... and the music industry is still alive.
Pirating is not correct, but I don't believe the game industry can't find other ways to live in the modern eWorld.

That's not the point here. This guy is argueing he has the right to pirate games because it's not exactly the game he wanted.
Which is so hilarious it almost breaks me. The game's not what he wants but he's still getting it anyway.
OK THEN.

Yes, sure, I was talking about a broader problem. It is sad to read that gamers are abandoning the PC platform because of piracy, but I believe this will only create the necessary motivation to bring piracy to other platforms. The industry do need to adapt to the new era, IMHO.

these could be only stuff put online to devolve PC gaming, as the novelty has worn off. The powers that be videogame are tuning out the PC as viable. It's all console from here baby.. Its really hard to "pirate" or copy any console game, harder for sure than with PC games?

So, if it's harder to pirate a console game (highly debatable) so the developers will cut off an entire part of the fanbase. I'm not even touching the subject of working with inferior hardware

Hard to pirate console games? Seriously? From what i've seen over the years it doesnt take too long for someone to circumvent console firmware/software to run unintended code or to even load games from external hardware other than the disk drive/cartridge slot on the console.

I don't know about pirate console games, but I'm sure it will get easier and easier once the PC platform will be left without games!

PC games leave open doors where as console game machines are a closed system. Such things as snitch chips guard systems etc. Most soft ware will be on chips bound to the machine they're run on, not a free and open hdd. My computer has it's OS mounted on a chip based hard drive, won't be long till they're all chip based without spinny disks and they'll be coded to the system. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it!!

it might qualify under rumors tho. Everyone is waiting for the next shoe to drop on the game (ME#) so... we don't know if the game will even come out for PC?

And what do those articles have to do with Mass Effect? Or by "they" you meant developers in general?

In general. Maybe I picked the links too quickly, but I read some comments along the same lines lately.
Maybe about the next Tomb Raider, if I'm right.

Ah, yes, the controversial "Xbox exclusive" line. After a very large outrage they were quick to clarify that it's basically a "timed exclusive", though I have no idea how long it'll last.
Edit: to add some info, from the same Ubisoft who claimed that 95% of their consumers are pirates two years earlier: "PC Gamers! We're pleased to announce that Assassin's Creed Rogue will be coming to PC in early 2015." (Ubisoft FB page) ![]()

PC video game is dead, long live the PC video game..
IF mass effect does take two years to come out again, there is a very good chance it will NOT be on/for PC. People are not purchasing PC and all the zoomies that goes with the video game marketing strategy... They simply cost too much to provide for. Once consoles crossedd the video card limits, that's it. (don't believe me, as NVidia/AMD...they'll tell you.) We'll be playing ME on our smart phones?

How about you ask them yourself? Consoles are not even close to getting to the power PC can provide. Anyway, this has gone way too off-topic, I'm done here. PM me, if you wish to continue (or make another thread)
