I'd like to keep the visible portion of my post on topic, so I will say that I don't have much interest in the Single Player element of Mass Effect 4. I understand why continuing the franchise makes sense from a financial point of view, but I don't see the setting living and breathing for me as a continued roleplaying experience. They may surprise me, and if they do, I'll be quick to praise them for it.

On the other hand, I am most definitely looking forward to the multiplayer followup, and I strongly suspect it was the larger motivating factor in releasing an additional Mass Effect Game. ME 3 MP was something that they can really build on with their community, and now that they have the experience of it under their belt, I have a lot of confidence that they can produce something truly exceptional with ME 4.

Yes, sure, I was talking about a broader problem. It is sad to read that gamers are abandoning the PC platform because of piracy, but I believe this will only create the necessary motivation to bring piracy to other platforms. The industry do need to adapt to the new era, IMHO.

Gamers are abandoning the PC because of piracy? Well, that's peculiar :P

PC video game is dead, long live the PC video game..

IF mass effect does take two years to come out again, there is a very good chance it will NOT be on/for PC. People are not purchasing PC and all the zoomies that goes with the video game marketing strategy... They simply cost too much to provide for. Once consoles crossedd the video card limits, that's it. (don't believe me, as NVidia/AMD...they'll tell you.) We'll be playing ME on our smart phones?

Lol. I bought a PC a month orso ago that eclipses every next gen console.

But to get back on topic:

I want a character creator like this soooooooo badly

Make it happen, Jos, Barret, whoever of you Bioware guys is reading this.

It's definitely been noted and passed around the studio a bit. That CC is just sickeningly cool.

WE NEED MORE MASS EFFECT FEATURES.

Like being able to build our own Citadel-thingy.

And a hanar soldier squadmate.

And assuming control of squadmates.

All the things.

Gimmie.

That's not the point here. This guy is argueing he has the right to pirate games because it's not exactly the game he wanted.

Which is so hilarious it almost breaks me. The game's not what he wants but he's still getting it anyway.

OK THEN.

I was going to be quiet since the we went off topic, but I have to reply to this kind of sentiment.

As I said, you either accept my view as a legitimate one, or you can go jump. I'm not going to change my attitude. Least of all for some random guy on his high horse on the internet. I'll try the next Mass Effect game, but I won't buy it if it turns out to be a dissapointment. This is a consumer's right. We ARE entitled to that, no matter how much the corporate fat cats bleat.

What I'm proposing to do is like going to a newsagency and reading a couple of articles in a managzine and then deciding you don't think it's worth buying, and putting it down. There's nothing wrong with doing that and it's certainly not stealing. Any newsagent who tells me to buy it or get out won't get my custom ever again. He'd make a lot more money if he let me be.

This is a copyright issue, not an issue of theft. And the arugment has been well made that copyright law is extremely flawed and in dire need of fixing. Then we have a game industry which needs to adapt to changing circumstances. Until that happens, pirating will continue, and it's not unjustifiable. Consider the fact that music piracy has gone down since the industry changed its business model.

There's also evidence to suggest that pirates, at least young ones, are more likely to be better consumers than non-pirates. Funny that.

If you don't like people disagreeing with you and voicing it, public forums aren't your thing. Especially not if you have ridiculous views like the ones you're spewing here.

I think this is a pretty long bow to draw, and really, really unlikely. There is a huge number of PC gamers now, and there will still be a huge number of PC gamers in one or two years' time. That player base won't disappear just because phones or tablets are getting more powerful.

Bioware have said a few times that PC players make up roughly a third of their sales, alongside Xbox and Playstation. How does it make sense to not make a game that they could access? Why would a company ever intentionally limit their potential audience size, unless it was totally uneconomical?

I also suspect that as a fairly hardcore franchise in a niche industry sector, the PC market is particularly important to the studio anyway - pissing off those players with another unnecessary controversy would be madness. For all the stereotypes about grognardy master-race people, they are (for better or worse) some of the most hardcore players, and I just can't see how any company that makes AAA RPG games would exclude them.

You're not just disagreeing. That would be fine. You're attacking someone who has a different view. Check yourself.

So I leave for few days and people start talking about piracy and that PC gaming is dying.

Come on, this thread is not about that. Find some other place to talk about piracy and Steam has already proven PC gaming is in fact prospering. Origin as well has proving that.

So cut the discussion about that now, I don't want my thread locked. I know there's lack of discussion here, but would prefer it open until for when we start getting new info.

A little birdy told me the reason the relays were not destroyed, just damaged, is that's how you upgrade them to Frostbite.

Hair. Bioware games need better hair. We need better textures and hair physics. It doesn't have to be Lara Croft "eat my GPU" TressFX-hair, but something like Elizabeth's hair in Bioshock Infinite would be very nice.

Heh, I can run TR on ultra, no problems :P

Give me hair physics like that and a character creator like Black Desert 2 and I might just never get to playing the game at all. Just create beautiful characters <3

I can't edit, but you may want to add that Ann Lemay is a writer on the project. She was in a Bioware Montreal studio tour video from just a couple of weeks ago on BIoware Base on Youtube. Her subtitle in the video was "Writer - Bioware Montreal" and I think considering she also worked on Omega DLC, a note should at least be added that she's likely gonna be a writer on the project.

You couldn't have used a worse example.. reading a few pages and deciding whether to buy it or not? that would be like a 2 minute demo of the game, not the entire thing. Your example is that you would want to take it home, read the entire thing then make an executive decision as to if it was worth the 10$ purchase price and if not you give it back to the clerk?

this aint danoz direct mate, what planet do you live on?

I'll read reveiws, watch gaming channels and make my decision, yes ive been burnt too many times the last couple of years buying into the hype by pre-ordering but no longer. If I like what I see I have no problem supporting a company with my hard earned money by purchasing the game they spent years creating.

Thank you and added temporary.

I just got reminded we only add Bioware devs that have Twitter accounts and frequently post there. If all people I just added( Marie-Renee Brisebois, Colin Campbell and Ann Lemay) have Twitter accounts, do link them here.

Also sorry for delay, I'm pretty sick for past week.

Saw that the other day, it's just one analyst's prediction. Bioware have said nothing publicly about a release date yet.

(And that person can't be very accurate if they completely forget about Dragon Age releasing this year.)

I was sick for 9 days, I won't go into details but it was bad to the point I was hallucinating. However I had made my friend bring my laptop into the hospital with me and everyday i'd check in on this thread hoping to find some new information (sometimes i'd imagine I saw some too).

I think I'm about done waiting for info on the new ME Bioware. Pleeeeease hurry up and tell me!

No news is good news right?

They want to make a "Big Bang" with Mass Effect "4" reveal, can't be done when DA:I is still in the foreground flashes.

We need to wait only a bit more, DA:I is almost before our noses, so in about only 1 more month, we can reasonably start expecting info on Mass Effect "4".
