Not to mention that no matter how hard you try, you can only kill her at the exact last moment in the trilogy where you have no more squadmates :/

Why is it that's it always Liara who get's the essential plotlines? And even if you say "because Shadow Broker", it's Traynor who saves your butt with info in the end.

If anything, it should have been Liara who got hurt on Mars. Give the Virmire survivor a chance in the spotlight.

Now, back to the discussion at hand...

agreed I like Liara but damm she is way too overused

in ME3 I actually try to balance her screentime (don't take her on many missions (only Surkesh and Ardat Yakshi) apart from the ones she has to go with) because with time she can get on my nerves

I do the same. She starts annoying me on Mars. She talks so damn much on that mission. It's back to back to back... I just want her to shut up for a minute. I like Liara well enough, but I definitely felt force-fed a steady diet throughout ME3. It got old very quickly. I like her less than I used to like her, because of her overuse. I feel the same way about Tali, due to her unlikely rise to Admiral and forced presence on Normandy.

I'd have left the Shadow Broker and the Admiral to their respective jobs, and replaced them in the crew with Miranda and Legion, who make way more sense, in terms of the story. Oh, well.

Having Miranda and Legion as squadmates in ME3 would have made me so many shades of happy.

Especially Legion for me.

... We don't even get Legion in Citadel DLC as arena fight squadmember.

I'd much prefer Jack.

I'd have loved to have everyone back. I called out those two because their absences seemed contrived, while Liara, and especially Tali, seemed forced into the crew.

tbh Liara is a good character but my main problem with her is that most of her plot relevance seems more forced rather than natural. The writers should have made another character who'd be better suited to the plot. For instance Miranda and Jacob should have been the ones to recover Shepard to revive him/her since Shepard works with Cerberus in ME2. In lotsb some one else should have become the shadow broker since its too far fetched for Liara to become one since she'd had no experience in being an info broker especially in the span of two years.

Has there been another estimated release date yet, I know they where thinking 2015 but someone said they were doubting that.

Nope. No estimates. On N7 day, they kept saying the game was "years away", probably playing it safe. I suspect it will be a 2016 release, but there has been zero indication of a date from BioWare.

Sadly we have nothing on that.

Best speculation I can give to you is around holidays 2015( entire year after DAI release) to holidays 2016( the most realistic to be the furthest release date).

DS9 is a new story, but that didn't stop Worf from joining in Season 4.

There's no correlation. Liara cameos won't negate NME from telling a new story.

Yes, and his character developed a lot because of it. Worf was at his best in DS9 imo. I'd be quite happy to see Liara or Wrex come back in NME.

I'd still be annoyed if Liara get's to have anything more then cameo role.

She got WAY too much screen time, too much focus and way too forced to have major role( in the end, her role was highly minor). She just has way too much stigma to be back fully.

Wrex in other hand could work to have a significant role. He was mainly a lore dump in ME1 with barely any character progression, had neat cameo in ME2 and had major role in ME3 and great time in Citadel DLC. He deserves to get something more then cameo in one more major ME game.

No. He can die in ME1.

He still got a major role in ME3.

Plus, when I said significant I don't mean it has to be important to main plot for Next ME game. Just something on the line Wrex does something good for you in your mission, without being trivial nor important. Something as fun connivance, let's say.

Added a new rumor, thanks for the catch HARBINGER-SR1.

It is a rumor, obviously, so it can easily just be Elias is a friend with some of these top Bioware employees or just wants to hear news on the Next ME game.

I personally care little over who possibly gets a cameo / supporting  / active role in NME. As long as said individual's presence is relevant in some degree to justify whatever reason they decide to have in the game, I'm more than content with it.

Though honestly, I'm more than fine having no one returning at all. Perhaps indirectly if necessary (since certain characters does have certain level of influence in the universe), but otherwise hardly something I consider vital.

Have Bioware finally confirm a human hero and is there still a chance of playing as a alien hero?

They haven't confirmed anything. It will be human-only if they want to give the PC an iconic name like Shepard.

Human hero confirmed long time ago, but option to play as alien is still neither denied nor confirmed.

Am I one of the few people who hopes no previous characters return in hope for an alternate universe ME so we do not face the constant fear of prequels?

Definitely not. I doubt they could make it something other than an AU and have it remain plausible while still pleasing the large amount of people who disliked ME3's ending.
