Leaked image of the ME:Next squad in action!

I wouldn't have a problem with that. The one with the loudest bark will be the leader

Shepard?

I like Wreav better
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Honestly, ME3 Wrex kinda turns me off. Kinda.
Something tells me that we'll probably see another morally ambiguous organization. Hopefully Bioware depicts more like the STG who manage to get things done instead of Cerberus who have most of their projects blow up in their face. If they ever decide to do a pro-human origination again (hopefully not for a while) section 31 from DS9 and ONI (minus Kilo-5) from Halo would be good examples of such organizations done right.

- Known Feature: The use of biotics in combat is going to make a return.
- Dev Promise: The combination of biotics, weapons and powerful hardware is “amazing”

Do we have to use words like 'dev promise' already? This is probably a big part of the reason they're so hesitant to share stuff with us - a personal tweet gets the status of being some kind of official promise that must be in the final product.
While I highly doubt it would happen, biotics could still theoretically be removed from the game later down the line. As I understand it, they try out a lot of things and some features will stay, but many won't. If every little tweet about something is recorded in a document as a 'known feature' and 'dev promise', it's just asking for more 'They didn't give us what they promised!' outcries after the release.
Just something to consider ![]()

Could that mean more synergy with biotic and tech powers?

On the contrary, "known features" is the most solid and most official information, we have. We perceive "Dev Promises" as vague declerations of what's in-game, essentially tier-2 information. Both KF and DP are subject to changes, but DPs more so than KF.
I think that we are commited to a 3-tier information system (which is expressed currently as "KF", "DP", "Rumors"), as it worked very well for ME3, but if you have a better naming alternative to "Dev Promises", we are quite open to suggestions. Better yet, if any dev feels uncomfortable with this arrangement, they can contact us here, or on our Twitter.
That said, I'd rather we didn't revisit the times where we had a huge warning sign image notifying everyone that even "Known Features" are subject to change, in fear of the thread getting locked out of the blue. Everyone should be aware that the nature of a creative process is somewhat (somewhat, not completely) fluid.
However:
As I understand it, they try out a lot of things and some features will stay, but many won't.
This has most certainly not been my experience with BioWare development. They don't experiment around, tweet about it, and then pick whatever concept sticks.
Fair enough
I suppose that makes sense. I just got a bad flashback from the whole 'they lied to us' flood of reactions after ME3. Although some of it was valid criticism, most of it didn't seem to be. But I haven't followed this thread closely, so I'm not familiar with the practices here. But it's good to see you're on top of it ![]()

They don't tweet about it, no, but that's likely because of the potential backlash and expectations it could trigger, not because they don't try out things and then scrap them later down the line. What I was getting at is that a dev should arguably, on their personal account, be able to mention something they're playing around with without it being noted as a 'known feature'... but I understand why they don't.
I apologize for major delay in update, I was hanging out with friends whole night.

I prefer to think it's synergy with destructible environments ![]()
Jos commented on twitter awhile back during a play-through of the current build about being in space and how beautiful it was nowadays. Does this imply controlled space travel will be implemented. That is a feature I've always wanted to see in the game.

It could also refer to the galaxy map or a section where you walk on top of a ship, or even just a cinematic.

The responsibility for that falls both on those idividuals and even BioWare. They do have a responsibility to not mislead the consumer.
I do understand where you are coming from, though. I was around when the infamous Mike Gable video was released. I am referring to the one where he promised diverse endings, or something along those lines. That thread had ~2 replies in it. Few people had actually watched it.
The after-the-fact manufactured outrage wasn't justifiable in that case. But again, that was between the consumer and BioWare, neither the reporters who conducted the interview, nor us.
But I haven't followed this thread closely, so I'm not familiar with the practices here.
Understandable. If you are interested for more context or to see if there was any misinformation during the ME3 threads, you can check the surviving google docs:

I'll have a discussion on this with the rest of the guys during the weekend. Thanks for the confidence. ![]()

I don't think that BioWare has ever scraped a whole feature of considerable size since ME1 (E3 2006).
I think that the devs are well aware that their accounts are open to the public. Regardless of whether we use their tweets as primary sources, the gaming press will write articles based on those tweets, and we would use those articles instead. Same outcome, significantly less efficient means. Plus, the press definitely loses a ton of minor features.
Fair enough

Your statement is understandable. As it has been stated her before--this is a community effort after all, we are simply the guys who handles the official "tweaking". So any confusions / questions about the thread, always feel free to lay them forward so that we can discuss them and help make it better for everyone involved. ![]()

"Dev tweets", "Dev Talk" or "Dev Comments?"

The Fandom: "Cro, Cro, Cro, my sweet deluded little minion. Aren't we forgetting one teensy-weensy, but ever so crucial little, tiny detail?"

"Dev tweets", "Dev Talk" or "Dev Comments?"
I was thinking something along the lines of "Dev Statements". But it's still up for discussion.
"Dev Statements" is a good choice.
Well, if you think about it, biotic/tech powers are two of the things that keep the beings in MEU from being either superhuman or CoD material. It keeps them from being superhuman (or Marvel Material) because they're not too powerful. It keeps them from being CoD material because it keeps things interesting.
If I had to put money on it, I'd bet'cha that biotic/tech powers were gonna make a comeback.
Damn, just spent the last two hours plowing through this thread..
When it comes to a thing similar to Dragon Age: Keep, I hope they have that for the new Mass Effect game or, like someone else mentioned, a couple of conversations at the start that decide your canon... Like when Jacob and Miranda ask you questions on the shuttle down to Freedom's Progress or whatever that place was called...
"So, [player character], remember that person... Shepard? Refresh my memory.. were they a man or a woman? ... Ah yes, I can't believe what they did on the crucible... what do you think?, And how about that Genophage, I can't believe they did what they did... remind me, what did they do again?" and "I can't believe who they fell in love with... I can't remember their name though...."
It would probably take a while to get through all the decisions
