Hackett would be the Alliance's de facto leader by the end of ME3.
But if they keep him around for more than a couple of decades, he is bound to devolve to an "Old Fuss and Feathers" kind of general. Not that I would put it past the Alliance, but I am sure that Hackett would have the good sense to retire by that point.
So, for the Alliance's sake, I hope that he has stepped down by the time the next game takes place.
Wrex, sure, as long as his policies don't lead to stagnation, he'd be a good leader for the krogan reconstruction.
I have a feeling that Liara isn't going to want to keep on the Shadow Broker role. In Lair of the Shadow Broker she said that she would keep it up in order to help Shepard.
Wrex is very old even by krogan standards. And remember humans live longer (and probably age slower) in ME, so Hackett may stick around for more than you think.

I'd like to note that next month there's gonna be Gamescon.
Bioware will be there, but mainly for Dragon Age Inquisition. However, expect some info on the next ME game.
As well in October, we will have Comic Con in New York. Most likely we will get lot more info then.

Do you think BioWare will start flooding the net with details once DA:I is out?
If so, we can expect them spilling more milk starting december 2014.

yeah, i think it's safe to assume they don't want to take the spotlight off DA:I prior to its release. that being said, they could be giving us just a *tad* bit more information than what they've released so far. sheesh.

Most likely.
We had very few info about ME3 when DA2 wasn't released.
Once that was out, after a short while Bioware opened the flood gates for ME info.
However, that means we won't see any real info on the next ME game until VGX, as Dragon Age Inquisition will be released after Gamescon and NYCC.

I want to play as a Turian protagonist. I guess it's too much to ask. ![]()

I wouldn't care if the story is in line with Shepard's. I only care it is well written and true to the ME universe.
Old characters? Bury me with them. Loved every single one of them, don't mind one or two of them showing up.
Mako looks rad but no guns is a bummer.
What I truly want is a good protagonist - be it human or alien, be it N7, Cerberus or whatever -, good companions but most of all, better dialogue options, emotions true to the character I'll build, an option to being neutral instead of Paragon or Renegade. Decisions that actually matter, that could potentially make my protagonist go to hell or turn out to be a god (something like Aria's "I am Omega", the Shadow Broker infos and influences, Archangel of some sort and on and on) and relationships that aren't dull or happens whenever they want it to happen. Actual relationships stuff, be it friendship, romance, family or professional.
Gimme truly dark characters, some that hate is included. Even the Reapers I couldn't hate. Seriously now. Renegade protagonist isn't that dark since, in the end, I'll still save the galaxy. C'mon.
If a ending is canon, don't mind, don't care. If the ending matches the story well enough, hell yeah I'll buy it all. Just want closure. That ME3 ending was too vague. This is what I need to make the next game a new passion of mine.

It's still not known will human be an only option.
We only know human male and female are an option.

You know, theyve already teased some new IP, it's totally possible that they'll release more on that after DA: I's release than ME 4. Especially if it's years away like they said.

*snip*
Bioware said nothing about the next game being set in Shepard's life time, that was a rumor started by some journalist, the only things confirmed was that the mako was returning and is customizable.
P.S Casey, Mac and Mike have been part of the development of the ME series since day one it makes sense that they return to work on the next installment.

This article covering the panel mentions new alien races.
They mention only possibility.
Bioware said no word on aliens being playable or not.
Most likely they will in multiplayer, but for singleplayer is hard to say.

Looks good to me. I'll also add this:
“We’ve learned a thing or two about vehicle frustration,” Gamble said, relating that BioWare was focusing on making the vehicle easier and more intuitive to drive.

hopefully they learned a thing or two about narrative coherence, as well.

This is why this thread's predessor got locked twice.

In August, Gamescon. October, NYCC. November N7 Day 2014. All before DA:I release
Brace yourselves for 3 more months of wild speculation!

I can't believe we are doing this all over again! I remember all of you's (Phadeon, Vertigo, Chewin, CroGamer002, etc.) back from the old Known features thread. Hope you've all been good. Never got to say a proper thank you, but looking forward to this thread and the new game.
Just like old times ![]()

tbh I think its worth noting that even if the features are confirmed they'll still be subject to change/removal.

Hence why it is called 'Known Features' and not 'Confirmed'. We had a mod point it out back with the old threads.
