If Bioware goes that route, and realistically I think it is their only viable option for a sequel set in the Milky Way, it might also be a good idea to have the fans vote on it like they did with Fem Shep's appearance. Set up a poll before hand where fans are asked if they'd rather see a Destroy, Control, or Synthesis sequel. It gets fans involved in whatever path the sequel follows, would probably damper some of the pre-release complaining, and would provide some hype and excitement for that game before the basic plot is even announced. 

 

It's the best option for everyone, hence it will never happen.

Regarding a return to the Milky Way...
 
I doubt it will be the setting of ME: Next, but after playing The Witcher 3 I now I think it is entirely doable in a subsequent game. Just go the same route CD Projekt Red did with TW3, and ignore some of the variables created by the previous game. Just select a single ending choice from ME3 and roll with that as the sole basis for your Milky Way sequel. People may gripe about it before release, but if the game turns out be amazing not many people will care. Look at the reaction TW3 is currently getting, despite largely ignoring many choices and different outcomes created by those choices in TW2. Like any game it has a few detractors, but on the whole both the critical and fan praise has been glowing.

I support by far ParaControl, and I wouldn't have a problem with it.
