With time dilation and other science weirdness, the time differential for those living in the Milky Way after the Reaper invasion and those transplanted to Andromeda need not be the same. At the start of ME:A, the Reaper war may have been over for thousands of years, even though those making the intergalactic journey have only experienced a decade or two.

Did you happen to use the Google doc as a source?
I dug info up from around several places and placed them on a log of my own that I keep for news updates. It's what I do for the DAI news updates as well.

Hey guys! I just read something interesting on the Bioware Blog : "You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later)." This was posted on the blog by Aaryn Flynn and Yanick Roy! Interesting read and info! Just thought I would share this little tid bit! Take care!!

PM a mod? Possibly an oversight.

Here's pretty much everything, put into convenient video form
That tweet from Michael Gamble is interesting: "There is no canon ending to ME3. Player choice is something we take very seriously". And the characters don't seem to have Synthesis effects (green glow). Plus the "current gen" weaponry could mean that all the characters in ME:A left the Milky Way before the Reaper War ended. Maybe some sort of of Exodus program (or Ark program
) to ensure survival. They might have traveled for a long time to Andromeda in cryo stasis. Which could explain the time gap between ME3 and ME:A.

Well
1) The game is still early in development, so the synthesis glow might not be added in yet
2) I'm betting the default choice (which is what they'd likely show in the trailer) isn't sythesis
3) Maybe the glowy green stuff wore off after a few generations?

Am hoping that Pause continues to be applied as a Player option for those of us that are not able (or desire) to play Action games. Pls keep an eye open for this confirmed feature.
I'm curious as to whether they bring the tac cam into this one.
As the previous ME games were done using the Unreal engine they hadn't implemented it in that engine. Seeing as how both this and DA are now on the same engine it will be interesting what they carry over.

I just think time line wise would it make more sense that the Andromeda exploration began before one of the endings took effect (Maybe after Genophage cure). They launched that project incase Shepard lost the war. If it would be after the war and they have defeated the Reapers, why would some people leave for another galaxy? And if they'd have lost they couldn't launch this venture without having the Reapers on top of them.

We've now added a few new things of interest, courtesy of Ars Technica's recent interview with Aaryn Flynn and Mac Walters!
The "Dev Statements" section has been edited to include the following details:
1. BioWare is looking at Need for Speed's developers (and possibly even working with them directly) for lessons on how to improve the Mako's handling in Andromeda.
2. Casting has not yet started for any of Andromeda's characters. This seems to directly contradict earlier rumors of Elias Toufexis having signed on for a role, so we've crossed that out for the time being. There's always a chance the interview contained erroneous information, but for now this seems fairly straightforward.
3. The goal with Andromeda's style of exploration is to start things off in the new galaxy on a much smaller (though still massive) scale, rather than giving players access to the entire galaxy from the start. (As an aside, this essentially aligns with the alleged leak from several weeks ago, which claims players will be exploring the "Helios Cluster" of the Andromeda Galaxy.)

This part line up with Helios Cluster thingy from leak indeed. BUT... Casey was talking in E3 2014 videos about jumping from one end of the galaxy to another lol

I think the journey to Andromeda was planned after Shepard lost the info on the catalyst to Cerberus. The Asari councilor mentioned that civilization continuity plans were being made. It is near the end of the game but we don't know the timeline between Shepard getting beaten by Kai Leng and the ending of the game. But it is a window. I can't see them doing it early on as not many of the council planets took the invasion seriously, all but Earth and Palaven which were under heavy Reaper fire. I can't see it done afterwards cause there would be no point so I think it could have been done near the end.

Heh, true, true.
I suppose time will tell! In my experience Casey was always prone to extravagance with his choice of words. ![]()

Casting may have started, they just haven't nailed down anyone yet.
