It's a known features thread. And there are no new features to write about. BW already said they will share new details at the end of the year. Probably on N7 Day.

Political correctness doesn't really exist in the way you seem to think it does. Its just a way for stupid people to say, 'I am offended that you are offended...'

One dude wishes for women to wear more (seemingly) appropriate clothing in a game so that his experience of that game can be improved a little bit. How on earth is that being politically correct?

(Cant tell if you are being sarcastic. :))

oh nooooo! personally i dont mind going away from the triology..... but i'm afraid that i wont stop thinking about the old crew as i play this new game. so not seeing at least liara, would make me a little disappointed, or maybe i should just accept that it ism and get along :/

MEA will be the opposite of the Citadel DLC's fanservice.

Doesn't mean there won't be any connections to the trilogy (there may even be big ones, even if they don't constitute the main plot), or that we won't see *any* familiar faces by the end.

But clearly, MEA is meant to be a fresh-enough start - for at least most of it.

I am completely okay with this as long as:

1)The Milky Way is not completely abandoned (I can go on this Andromeda field trip but I'd rather the Milky Way not be ignored), especially after this game

2)This is not treated as a literal reboot, but just a device to give us a lot of new things, before we inevitably connect back more (not totally, but more) to the material of before. The ME trilogy should always matter IMO, even ME1 should. For the things one could critique DAI for, it is undeniable that each DA game, including DAI, has things that connect back to the beginning, even if often just side NPC dialogue and historical context and slightly increased lore understandings.

3)The characters of ME1-ME3 are not left totally in the dust, but only put off to the side, for Bioware to retrieve more DA style (that is, they'll be back if/when Bioware decides its an appropriate time to meet them again, in whatever normal or weird way). And I'm sure Bioware is aware that selling a MEA DLC that features a well loved ME trilogy character (or several of them) is a huge incentive to buy ;)

If it ends up that MEA completely abandons the Milky Way forever, is almost totally a reboot of the story and even lore, and the trilogy characters are all but completely ignored, then yeah, I hate it. But in itself, I'm okay with the 'fresh start' feeling (again, at least temporarily).

Big news at Bioware. Drew Karpyshyn, author of KotOR, ME1 and ME2 is back at Bioware. He probably wont' be working on ME:A but might write the story for a Sequel.

Yes, we do need to see how the Milky Way ended after the Reaper War, hopefully Bioware can figure out how to tie player endings to the story, even if it's in a sequel or DLC. I think it would be disappointing if there isn't some kind of attempt to return to the Milky Way, even if it was to see the state of Milky Way or to try to get reinforcements for the war in Andromeda. I for one would like to see Matriarch T'Soni, or maybe Urdnot Grunt as leader of the Krogan, maybe some random planet/city or ship named after Commander Sheperd, Admiral Anderson or Admiral Hackett, just to bring back some memories. :D

Or maybe a descendant of Wrex, Thane/Kolyat, a Research facility named after Mordin, a statue the Hanar build in honor of Javik, a new Ardat-Yakshi sanctuary named after Samara.

idk really, just throwing ideas out there Bioware (hint, hint)

And right there you've pointed out some of the problems. Liara and Grunt don't necessarily live long enough to make it to a later game.

Don't Asari and Krogan live for around 1000 years? Liara was only 109 and Grunt is only 1 year old. They could make it if Andromeda takes place within that time frame.

The statement about the game starting smaller and more focused is somewhat reassuring that we will see a strong, story-driven narrative and not just filler side-content.

I'm stoked about all of the potential environments (just as long as they are not empty and hollow like DAI) but I am afraid that everything will be just open and savage wastelands. I do hope we see colonies and something similar to the Citadel.

Hmm. says the story is about our character becoming a Hero. I hope we are not forced down a Paragon/Savior campaign.

Good. Nothing makes the universe smaller than constantly seeing familiar faces.

While I don't doubt a Citadel-esque "recharge and refuel" hub, I suspect that most -- if not all -- colonies will feel less like "space towns" and more like DAI's Hinterlands Crossroads, Crestwood Village, et al. That is to say, fairly uneventful little shindigs, in this case likely of your own creation.

I don't have a source, of course, but I did correctly estimate what DAI would be like re: settlements. Nothing in the leak suggested things will be different here. I just don't have a lot of confidence in BioWare not finding it must compromise on settlements in order to deliver on the untamed beyond.

Nah, they had Torfan Shep and that worked out fine. Renegade Shep was deliciously fun to play and was still considered a hero for saving the galaxy.

I think he was referring to the fact that Liara and Grunt could die during the course of the Shepard trilogy. Liara can die during the beam rush in ME3 in a low EMS playthrough and Grunt can die either during ME2's suicide mission, or on the Rachni mission in ME3.

Sure, they can live that long....... if they survive the trilogy in the first place. How big a problem this is depends on how much content they'll get. if they're only in for brief unimportant cameos, it's just a matter of a few replacement lines for another character if they died.

Turns out no or little explicit MEA news.

But there could still be something interesting, and yes, December is still very open to getting news and something like a more substantial trailer.

In any case, we're within a few/several months of when marketing goes full steam.

Just read the blog entry myself. Kind of a bummer tbh. But you're right about december being a possibility.
