Everything we've seen looks more advanced than what was in the trilogy. Considering Shepard supposedly had access to all the most cutting edge technology, I find it hard to believe that this game will be set during the trilogy.

I always had the impression that the Krogan in the ME trilogy were smaller than they should be.
The Codex says that those guys can weight a entire ton with armor... Maybe they changed his looks to match the lore?

Another minor update.
Vertigo_1 used Photoshop to improve quality to images from E3 teaser trailer, which were originally of rather poor quality.
As well update on description, as in one of images there's an error caused due to poor quality image.

So while Bioware haven't at all said the game is set in Shepard's lifetime, they have said:
There may be the return of old character's and there will be new species we haven't seen before.
So while not 'known' features that points to a milky way galaxy sequel?

Could be, then again we don't know who these old characters are, so they could have simply hitched a ride to the new galaxy.
It could still be anything at this point.

Believe that is just a reflection.
Anyway, do take a look in the gallery. Vertigo did amazing job on rendering them and they look amaze balls!

No, she has holographic visor in alternative appearance DLC.
I just went to quick Google image search and this was the best image I could find.
I could dig up my old ME2 screenshots I took later to prove.

You're probably right. Regarding something else; Im just to excited to know how to create a completely new story containing N7, without Shepard. There must be something special to fill his shoes. But time will tell, perhaps..

Some stuff from the panel:
The armour is designed to be customisable based on adding (or "snapping") armour pieces to a base, and they showed examples of the male and female protagonist with full armour and the default hardsuit thing. The light colour might also be able to be changed.
The Mako is a "fast response, point-to-point" vehicle designed to get you to your destination as quick as possible.
The armour was designed with exploration in mind, to give the protagonist freedom of movement and freedom of vision to see the environment. The helmet isn't a crash helmet (like perhaps Shepard's was). The focus on exploration is also supported by the animations to some extent.
There'll be alien squadmates.
Species like Thresher Maws (or wildlife on planets) might be possible, but it depends on whether the art team can create high-quality models and fit them into the game.
There's a sense of going to new places in order to look for new things, and then making those things your own.
ME Next has a ship. (obviously)
