So yes bioware at this year's comic con revealed that the next ME will take place during the ME trilogy but without Shepard somewhere else in the galaxy. This probably means that running into familiar faces is very possible.

MULTIPLAYER is coming back but will be more co-op focused than competitive so a PvP option looks very slim..

It is entirely possible, but however, at least fans may be happy to see some familiar faces if they ever happen to pop up, or even a mention of that particular character, like Shepard for example.

Imagine being able to port your ME3 character into ME4 and being able to meet them as another character! Would be strange, but could be cool.

Don't do the Dragon Age thing. If you're going to bring previous companions back, give them an actual reason to be there. Don't just bring them in to add continuity.

It'll be too short of a game imo. Maybe a dlc or an animated movie like the James Vega story prior to him becoming an N7

Because regulars on this forum mostly finished with the SP long ago. We play the MP together regularly and discuss all aspects of both ME3 and the next game (and anything else that pops into our heads). If this was posted in the SP forum most of us would never see it. I don't think I've ever visited the SP forum. And any time new information is released about the next game there is at least a hint at what the multiplayer might look like.

I always thought having sequel would be kind of hard to pull of with the endings as they were.

 

With all the talk about how ME4 is completely new game, I don´t actually expect to see any familiar faces. I expect we get stranded in some new, uncharted part of universe, while accidentally discovering crucial asset for war with Reapers (cough cough)

 

But hey, I hope Mako will be as fun as it was in first ME

I still don't know what to think of that new info, I was expected a different timeframe tbh as placing the new series in the same as the former can easily pose consistency issues. I was expecting them to start afresh. I hope BW won't play at throwing familiar faces and places for "continuity purposes".

Probably gonna be like you are one of the N7 trying to hold of the advances of the Reaper while Shepard trying to save the universe or something. Trust Casey Hudson to come up with a good and original story... lol.

Surprised to hear that the story will at least start in the Shepard time frame, but I'll reserve judgment until the story is known / told. 

 

Hopefully all lessons were learned about trying to please everyone / telling them what that want to hear ...
