Hello,

My question wasn't so much about the storyline or characters or locales - it's a Dragon Age game, and whatever those are, they'll be stellar.  When it comes to story content, Bioware doesn't make bad games.

What I wanted to know is what kind of tech support and patches will be available after the game is released.  There are always first-day errors, and EA/Bioware doesn't have the greatest record for patching errors.

The context of this is that I'm bringing a few characters through the games in preparation for Inquisition.  I'm replaying Awakening, which I paid full price for at release.  On my seventh hour of trying to trigger Velanna's Exile (with a backwards Fade Wall shield on my back), I reflect that Awakening is essentially defective.  I have attempted every suggestion I've found online, noted that there's a simple fix for the PC version that was never exported to consoles, and further noted that Bioware has never even officially said if there's a way to avoid the error in-game.

I realize that four years on, this game-breaking bug is never going to get patched.  But it's emblematic of a larger problem with this series.  The fans laugh about the minor errors (healing effects received in Origins and items reducing hostility and odd graphical glitches).  But the fact remains that publishers of this series have a tendency to abandon it almost as soon as it hits the shelf, even if the error renders the game unplayable.

I want to pre-order Inquisition.  I know that as far as content is concerned, I have nothing to be afraid of.

But this is a massive game, on more platforms than ever, a few of them of a new generation.  However rigorous the beta testing, there's going to be bugs.  It's a given.

I just need to know that if there's going to be another Velanna's-Exile grade bug, it's going to be patched.  Otherwise I feel like I'm buying a pig in a poke.  Whether I pre-order it and recommend that my friends order the game very much depends on the answer, rather than on fancy thrones or unicorns.

Thank you.
