I like having it in the game. Flipping a coin who I choose to save, not save or get rid of both if possible. Cool.

It can make the plot pretty heavy and entertaining, but it leaves the franchise in a bit of a bind. Progress in the game universe basically comes to a halt when entire races can be wiped out in one fell swoop.

If the future ME games have decisions like that, I would leave it to the species in question and not the main character to decide their fate.

Meh. Hats and faces come and go. I just wish you guys weren't so... open about 'OMG it's somebody!' unless you actively wanted them to get banned. It's rather inconsiderate, and I highly doubt anyone sans David ever pissed anyone off enough to want to ban them permanently. Sure, the guy you're on about may have held some... controversial opinions, but did he ever do or say anything that made you dislike him permanently? I know he was abrasive, but was he really mean-spirited? Most of the time?

I've never understood how a person who wants and craves as much power as possible is always labeled as someone unworthy of wielding it. ASOIAF has taught me so much.

Yeah, I'd take power, and I'd be willing to use what people would consider not only questionable but downright despicable means to get it. But at the end of the day, I think I'd also use it far better than most other people too.

It's not that I want you to be you, but more that I doubt two different people carry the exact same load of crazy over to the exact same forum, discussing the exact same topics with the same crazy opinions to which the same sort of 'I don't understand you don't agree with me' is added when people voice their disagreement. All this using identical sentence structure and choice of words.

Hell, the only thing missing is the elaborate Miranda love and the 'hahahaha, I'm only joking, you didn't know? How foolish of you' when you've realized you've really gone too far.

I don't think I ever did the 'haha, I'm only joking'. I don't think I've ever gone too far, mainly because by my philosophy, you really can't go too far.

Besides, that's just unbecoming of my nature. That you label me as that shows you don't understand it. There are times when I'm facetious, but I always leave that up for other people to figure out when. And most of the time, I'm stone-dead serious about my opinions.

Also, your first statement basically says 'I don't want you to be you'; plus, unlike David, I've never really hid or denied from my identity or claimed any where such. All I've stated is that several people have been intentionally loud about it, possibly with the intent to see me gone (again), even though I was back up and running within minutes.

Woops, I misread your post completely. I kinda read it as you trying to hide your identity... don't ask me how -_-

I only stated it because I recalled people discussing whether it was you or not. And I, for the life of me, could not find out how that could possibly be a discussion at all.

p.s. don't get paranoid. Most of these 'oh look, it's Massively' posts are, I think, because people see someone they missed, not because they want someone to be banned again.

Destroy - it's the only sensible choice.

Synthesis is just plain ridiculous and only a lunatic would seriously go with that option.

Control was kinda interesting in that your Shep achieves immortality and gets the Reapers to make nice with the galaxy. But I was getting a creepy vibe from Shep when you go with Control - I don't trust Shepard (even if he was a perfect paragon) to remain a nice guy once he's been morphed into the Catalyst. The original Catalyst also started life as a benign and friendly AI, until one day it went all skitzo and started wiping out its creators and most other life in the galaxy. So I don't trust the strange AI/Organic, all-powerful, Reaper-controlling hybrid to leave the galaxy in peace.

Destroy guarantees survival of organic races. Sure we lose the Geth (I won't shed a tear for those a$$holes) and EDI, and a few other synthetics but at least we survive. And the Reapers are history, which is what we set out to do right in the very beginning - to wipe them out, not to be their puppet master, or to merge with them.

Pretty much.  Even if the endings didn't suck continuing the franchise at this point is...problematic.,

The truth? 'He' wasn't one to sugarcoat his statements and hold back from the truth.

Especially since 'he' generally didn't do it to anyone else. That's a clear sign that 'he' didn't have a lot of respect for you or your opinions. Nor was he willing to entertain them at all. Having an opinion does not magically make you right about it, nor does the right to one protect you from criticism for it.

The world needs less Daenerys Targaryens (you fall into that camp), and more Tywin Lannisters and Stannis Baratheons like 'him'.

My favourite is synth because there is no way in hell I'm killing my driver's girlfriend and my bodyguard just because it's morally right. I'm imperfect and selfish. I let the Rachni live and cured the krogan even though the galaxy asked me not to. Why? Cause Wrex was my friend and I don't like killing Big Mamas. If I had to choose to save my friends or the galaxy, I would let the galaxy burn. Cause I can think of no better way to spend the end of days than enjoying a pina colada with my friends and watching the lights go out in the night sky. So I altered the galaxy on a genetic level, I already gave it a rachni infection and even gave the krogans the ability to overpopulate again. Let's not forget I changed intergalactic laws and gave Aria control of the 3 biggest merc groups in the galaxy. Heck even if the war didn't end and the reapers still kill everyone in that ending. At least joker can get closer to EDI before they are wiped out. I don't seems nicer to me. Also would allow Quorians and Geth to live together peacefully as the are now have more in common.

I hated Control. To me it just seemed weird and why I would trust that kid to be telling me the truth? Yeah I totally believe having a billion watts go through my body will make me king. Not to mention if I would become God of the Machines, does that mean I am also god of marital aids? I mean they are electronic and I would have control over them. In all seriousness, I wouldn't do it because of the big unknown factor of trust and I would be afraid of losing my self to the machines. Liara told me about her beacon, if the reapers found out about them, they'd probably try to destroy it. No way I am letting them get that info.

If for cannon lore just have it that only the reapers die, not the geth or edi cause they aren't linked to the reaper network which is also linked to the citadel and it would be nice if the killing of main characters was kept to a minimum. This isn't Game of Thrones where a main character must die every two episodes.

Jon Snow falls under Stannis' level of respect.

You're much closer to Daenerys' thinking from my observations. She's about as bad for the Iron Throne as Joff was, if in different ways.

So's Hodor, but you don't see him winning any awards.

Before you jump in, you should get some context on who we're referring to.

Well, your translation of humor didn't work so well over text, and the fact that your newsman is a Brit (as you are) wasn't something that I could just casually assume to be truth.

You don't need to overreact on someone else over a communication breakdown on your own end.

I choose to unplug my console after I hear Shepard say "The best seats in the house."

There was an initial 3 am walk into Synthesis because I had no idea wtf was happening.  Then a High EMS destroy because I was about to scald my eyes out with boiling water.  Then some youtube watching the endings.

But only one complete play through after watching the atrocious thing that is called an ending.  I chose none of the ham fisted programmed endings listed for me by the writer who couldn't figure out what happened before Glowjob spoke.

To me the most satisfying part of ME3 was when Shep made the decision to let Legion upload and there was peace between the Quarians and Geth for the first time in 300 years.   Further, as a gesture of goodwill, the Geth went further in helping the Quarians rebuild, and even further helping with finding solutions to their “medical immunity” problem.   I’ll never forget this dialogue with Tali & Shep in engineering.  This was BEFORE synthesis.

This disproves the statement said (more or less) “the creation will eventually rebel against its creator”…. and something some folks on this forum have tried to “remove the splinter from my eye” about & play on words (rather than the concept).

I do believe “the creation will rebel against its OPPRESSIVE creator”.   So would organics.   (Let’s not nit-pick about amebas & bacteria shall we?)   Some on this forum reverence each word spoken by Leviathan or Reaper to be infallible.  I differ.   EDI’s indictment of what she thinks about the reapers cannot be improved upon.

The Quarian & Geth peace was great.  I could not back-stab and destroy the Geth at this point.  So that influences my decision in the end.

Though DESTROY might seem the emotional response;  looking forward, the peace will not last as now -- all this military armada is sitting around with nothing to do.   Guess what?   Do I have to elaborate on the Council’s fears & prejudices?

Control does just that – controls in the hands of ONE person.   Is Shep ready to something he told TIM  (more or less) “we/you are not ready to control something of this complexity”.

So synthesis is all about:

Rainbows in the sky.

Children singing in the flowered fields.

Sunshine & Bunnies (as Joker would say as he gives EDI a big HUG!) <3

Synthesis. All the other options are you just trolling in some way. For example: you saved the Geth, let EDI find happiness and get a bit of humanity, and helped Legion; then you choose Destroy, what is the point of doing all that other stuff, then? Refusal is just you being a bastard. Control is... well what was the point in arguing with the Illusive Man? I like Synthesis because I would get a supercomputer brain.

It can be argued that TIM had the right idea for the wrong reasons. I'm guessing he would have dominated the other species and enslaved them, like the protheans did in their cycle. Besides, he was indoctrinated. Shep wasn't. Free will is probably what allowed her to successfully take control.

It's very difficult to tell, because the game very often argues that controlling something like the Reapers is impossible, versus talking about it's virtues but stating that TIM can't for whatever reason -- at least until the Catalyst shows up.

I think it would have been better for the story of TIM hadn't actually been Indoctrinated and he was just playing the part of a patsy the whole time. And that at the end it's revealed the Crucible was designed for Synthesis only; however, by manipulating it's activation some how you can achieve Control (represented by TIM using whatever method gleamed from Sanctuary) or rig the reactor to explode causing the Destroy function (represented by Hackett, Anderson, or Javik I guess). All the options would actually be reflected in the story.

I think TIM's too smart to just be a patsy, though. He'd figure it out eventually. That was the thing about indoctrination; everything he was doing seemed like it was his idea, and really it was just a distraction tactic by the reapers.
