Hey there! I've been drawing a lot of Dragon Age art lately so I thought it would be great to share it here. As of now I've only drawn Selim Adaar, my kossith (do we have a name for the race yet?) Inquisitor.
I welcome ideas about my Inquisitors. I'd like to draw them in lots of situations.
Bit of a bio of him: (I'm aware some of it might not align with the lore but we don't know enough about this race yet anyway)
Iquisitor Selim Adaar
The way I imagine my future Qunari/Vashoth Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
He’s a peaceful soul thrown into the chaos of Thedas. He always wants to do the right thing but his limited life experiences leave him wondering exactly what is right and what is wrong. He was raised in a camp of Tal-Vashoth, the youngest of them all. He was “stolen” by his father when he was 3 years old. The kidnapping humiliated his mother who was a very high ranking priestess of the Qun. Even though according to tradition children are raised collectively and not necessarily know who birthed or sired them, Selim knows exactly who his parents are. He loved his father dearly and admired his prowess as a warrior and leader. Things he believes he’ll never live up to. His mother however is another matter. He fears her, as she has not expressed any intention of letting them live in peace even after all these years.
Selim is 23 years old, 6’7” tall and weighs about 230lbs. Selim is a Rogue, excels at fighting with daggers, making traps and using bombs and poison. He is a gentle giant, until his life or the lives of those close to him are threatened. He prefers to use non-lethal force but is not against killing somebody who really deserves it. He is somewhat odd in many ways. Quiet, distracted and childlike. His manner is mild, he is soft spoken and curious. He does not understand humans or elves even after living among them for most of his life.
He often wonders how they survive the day to day before the dangers of the land. He cannot hold his liquor. He is attracted to females of his species, although his interests are expanding lately… It is hard for him to grasp politics and he cannot understand why people lie all the time. His companions have to teach him about sarcasm, white lies and bluntness. He has a good connection to animals. He loves to retreat to the forest or lie by the river.
He loves cookies and sweet bread and as of late has discovered the joy of Orlesian pastries. He has always wanted to ride a horse but knows that he would probably crush under his weight the small ones he has seen. The earrings he wears were given to him by a friend. His scar was given to him by the Qunaris that killed his father.
Varric the dwarf is Selim’s self-appointed “caretaker” or big brother. He cares for him and teaches him how the world works. Which confuses the young man because Cassandra assures the world does not work like Varric says it does. Solas and Selim often have staring contests that Selim wins most of the time. Other times the Tal-Vashoth just watches the elf meditate and practice his spells. The Iron Bull is determined to make his compatriot a fun loving horned giant like him but gets frustrated by Selim always asking “why” with regard to everything. Many times they have conversations about the Qun and the way their race behaves. The Bull also asks some very direct questions about what kind of females Selim likes whenever Cassandra is near.
Selim is unnerved by Cole and watches him closely. Selim does not like Dorian. He doesn’t understand his jokes and thinks he should use less magic and be less flashy. He admires Blackwall the Warden. He would’ve liked to be a Grey Warden. If an elf could defeat an archdemon, certaintly someone like him can do better than the Hero of Ferelden. Selim is not as humble as one might think. He has an uncanny ability to tell what people are feeling. Selim hates demons but likes dragons, at a distance of course. Selim absolutely hates strange Qunaris. He is intrigued by children and gets along well with them. Selim thinks the Dalish are stupid. Sera does not like Selim even though he likes her. Sometimes Selim speaks in the third person.
He dislikes Sister Nightingale and thinks Templar Cullen is a fool. Selim is smitten with Lady Josephine.
Poor boy. Nobody respects Inquisitor Selim Adaar. He is just too easy to tease. He insisted on wearing a bag over his head to hide his reaction to the lovely Antivan advisor, Josephine. Iron Bull is a troll and nobody can convince me otherwise.
