Can we betray our companions?

DA2 With Fenris I did the same thing romanced him was always nice then I gave him back to his Slaver. Again It felt deliciously evil doing that. And I have to ask. Can we do it again in DA:I?
I think the best candidate would be Cole. His child-like innocence would be perfect for crushing into dust and watch him fall to despair.

You want to do it so bad you made two topics about it

I'm fairly sure the option to be an evil sociopathic nut will be in DA:I. I don't see why it wouldn't be.
Personally, I am not taking any of those kinds of options. I'm not cray.

Why did you feel the need to make this thread? Even if we are going to be able to betray our companions, BioWare won't tell us. As it stands, I'm kind of with Drake on this one.

I thought I was going crazy for a minute there. I thought I had made a reply in the thread and I was like "WHERE THE **** DID MY POST GO"
Then I realized he made two threads.

Only if there are proper consequences for doing so.
The lack of said consequences are why stuff like selling Fenris back into slavery shouldn't have even been an option in DA2.

The only thing I'm getting out of this is you seem to have some kind of betrayal fetish.
Is there something wrong with having a betrayal fetish?

Dragon Age: Origins. I played a Female Warden and romanced Alistair and was super nice to him through the whole game and right at the Landsmeet I betray him for Loghain. I don't know why...but when I did that It felt spectacular and I want to do it again.
I like you. ![]()
As for betraying our companions could be possible, can't say I want to screw anyone over tho in this game. I don't dislike anyone as of now, it's still too early to judge. The only one I did that to in a DA game was Alistair but I didn't romance him, I twisted the knife, but not as deep as you did.

I wouldn't go that far. It's like eating: you can have healthy, wholesome foods but sometimes you crave sweet, sweet junk. It's ok to indulge once in a while.
On topic, I don't see why they would omit it this time around. It was in the two previous games.

OP, you scare me. And, since this is Dragon Age, betrayal of at least one companion seems likely.

Hopefully, it's an RPG with choices. It's not fun until we screw every companion over at least once.

I'm going to betray everyone and choose the blue option, thereby taking direct Control of the fade. It's going to feel SO GOOD

Assuming it was in the last two games and that you can end the game with only one companion at your side then I'd say yes yes you can. Though I wouldn't count the Alistair one as betrayal more of a tactical choice.

To unlock an achievement?
Oh! Why must he do this??!!
On a serious note, why betray a good friend?

Cause drama?
Not really sure honestly maybe it would fit with the PC they roll, I personally don't see the point of it unless I REALLY feel like its better to help win the big fight/win against the big bad.

What kind of consequences? Allies who are friends with, Fenris for example, turning on you or openly challenging the decision? I can get behind that...

Companion: Yes... yes. This is fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... This Land.
