The male one obviously, since that is the one with Tac Scan.  This is somewhat related to a side discussion in a thread a little while ago about debuffs and how Tactical Scan is so wonderful.

How much do you think the QME actually benefits from Tactical Scan and are there many people out there who don't invest in it at all?

Obviously this cuts against the main premise of MP, which is "mo' damage, mo' better."  But consider that you often aren't even casting TS as most units die rapidly to your weapons and spammed combos and grenades anyway, and unlike characters where you allegedly get no use out of fitness, QME has above average shields (1050 IIRC with full fitness).

I have a 4/4 split between TS and Fitness currently.  I had noticed that there are a few people that ran w/o TS on this character though.

I use TS on Plat, but if I'm playing Gold, then I skip it.

No Tac Scan on my MQE but I base most of my characters off of not having Cyclonics to use. If I had the ability to put Cyclonic III's and IV's on every time I would do 4/6/6/6/4 or 6/6/6/6/0.

4/4 split between fitness and TS is a good choice IMO. As for me, I always invest at least 3 ranks in Tactical Scan (in this case I skip the last rank of Quarian Defender), it's a nice debuff and the wallhax is useful to the team. I agree with Pearl that it has more use in plat than in gold though.

Good on Platinum and also handy to focus pugs. Quite often I cast it at something, like a banshee, and then run around killing other stuff, like mooks. Teammates take care of the banshee and the game goes faster. I also cast it on bosses so that I know where they are, so they won't surprise me.

But...but...getting pugs killed is fun?

I have a 4/4 split between Tac Scan and Fitness too. Even if I only use it once or twice per wave normally, it's still useful to focus everyone's attention when the need arises.

Sometimes! But really they seem to survive (usually).

I always max it out, opting for the 5/3 passives fitness split. Works well enough for me, since I only really use the venom on him anyways and thus won't be off-host. I hate banshees, primes, and atlases with the fervor of a volcano and want them eradicated as soon as possible.

I prefer 66653 on the MQE, specifically so I can get the 6b Area scan evo.

With a decent cooldown, I can use Tactical Scan as a ghetto geth scanner, freeing up the gear slot for grenade capacity.

Pair that to the boss debuffing it offers, and its quite worthwhile, I'd say.

Most of the time, I go without Tac Scan. I like to use power amps on the guy, and don't want him to drop too quickly. Therefore, I just Max fitness. Maybe, I could use it more on Platinum for debuffing enemies. But his combos are already decent enough, and the power amps + incendiary ammo help in this regard, too. Since I have promoted the Engineer class and I have yet to spec the guy, I might change it up, though...just for the fun of it.

I always skip TacScan on the MQE, it would just break the 'flow' of the character for me. I don't have time to use it anyway, I need to spam grenades and incinerate.

Same as Loufi mentioned, 4/4 split between TS(go for weapon dmg evo) and passives, I use TS on bubble enemies, otherwise just throw nades and make explosions.

I put 4 ranks in, but mostly use it to alert other players to a dangerous unit, like a Banshee or a Possessed Scion setting up somewhere it can cause serious damage, and for a bit of extra damage when it comes to taking down said units.

Not so useful in Gold, but sometimes, when there is a PuG with lower level equipment it helps there, too. I use it sometimes just to paint a sneaky Phantom for everybody and then go along with other business. When I spec into it, I always spec fully - screw fitness on fragile classes (except Drell - I like that speed).

I have 4 points in tac scan on my MQE... and I go entire games without using it, chastise myself to use it more... and still not use it.

is tac scan one of those things where if you throw it away you will immediately need it?

I split 4/4 tac scan/fitness or 5/5 passives fitness. Wanted to max it once for the walls hack on the Infiltrator since I need grenade capacity on him instead of Geth Scanner (been trying to set every grenade class for Geth Scanner lately, so far so good for Stimpack/RM on the two infiltrators, but the for real grenade kits it's easier said then done. I want my cheese capacity :P), but wasn't working out as well as I thought in that one match. Shouldn't of respeced out of wall hax so fast after only one match. Anyone have much success or fun with wall hax?

And splitting full Tac Scan for les passives is a no go at all. Since you still end up doing the same weapon damage, only now your teammates also stand a better chance of robbing you of epeen powers. So I know this won't fly with certain BSNers. Yes, you know who you are.

So yes, if it's not for Wall Hax, I see no point at all in maxing it. Besides, the debuff you get with just 4 points in it is quite massive enough as is. And I only really use it for bosses in my Gold matches anyways. Though I'm thinking if I should just max fitness and drop it now because of this topic? But I still don't see much worth in just maxing fitness shields via the last fitness rank. He's got plenty of shields as is. And I feel more of a team player debuffing the big bad bosses that wet the pants of my poor pugs I play with... or Banshees wetting my pants.

Now my Quarian Soldier on the other hand, I see nothing stopping me from maxing it out. And since he uses no grenade capacity, Geth Scanner can be used on him so no need for Wall Hax ever. Max debuff all the way!!! ... Though now that I think of it, maybe clip pack gear would be better? ie. I'm thinking Typhoon.

I always forget to use Tactical Scan so 3 or 4 ranks is good enough.  My MQE is power based so I skipped the last rank of passives for 3 ranks in TS.

The MQE can perform an Arc<->Incinerate combo or cast TS (takes about the same amount of time). Only fools would consider scanning something when they can also burn and blow em up.

Don't use them much (male quarians that is) , but always prefer to have it. The cool down is short and it's a great debuff. I like the 6b area scan Evo- it's useful as a quick peek at what you're about to get into.

Pretty sure I still have one of them specced into headshot damage though, which I think is the broken Evo.

Here's the deal with it. On Gold and Plat, mooks die so damn fast that the extra rank of weapons passives is meh, you can tac scan boss type enemies and annihilate them. The extra fitness isn't as much a deal breaker to me as being able to quickly take a peak at what's around the corner with area scan. You're already running Grenade Capacity V anyways so Area Scan gives you  a gimped version of Geth Scanner as well as a good debuff. I find when I get stuck soloing the extra awareness and being able to put nades exactly where I need them to be for max AOE damage is better than more fitness. Just my two cents.
