First I want to say this is no e-epeen thread, as some of you guys who had played with me already knew, I am always a scrubby player, lots of you have finished multiple Plat solos with various(if not all) kits, mine is just the humble TGI w/ Piranha, for the first time only.

I just want to post to say thanks, thank you for your encouragement, thank BSN for being such an amazing community, without you guys I may never deam of doing this:

Before this I tried Plat solo 4 or 5 times, all failed at later waves(wave 9 and beyond), guess this time I was just lucky:

Wave 3: target;

Wave 6: escort;

Wave 10: target.

Would be tough on later waves, esp. double Prime waves, no time to charge up shots, tho I could be wrong.

Never tried soloing on Gold on Reactor, I guess I'll see how well the Arc Pistol does on that map. It's a pretty open map down in the lower sections, but Arc Pistol combined with TC can drop Reaper units in a couple of shots.

I still have difficulties with charged-up weapons on Infiltrators, I mean I know the mechanics, charge, cloak and release, but I cannot always find the best pace, it works on normal Gold PUGs, but for Plat solo I'd try something I have more confident, I'll keep practicing with the combo tho.

Hmm I actually meant little to no e-peen here, but if you guys say it, then it is

I remember when I finally saw the "mission successful" screen, the tensions were gone, I felt truely humble inside, and now I have even more admiration for you guys who soloed this with all kits.

Maybe I'll do it again some day, with a different kit, just not anytime soon

Any reason you didn't go AR on the TGI?

 

Maybe it's just me, but I found Phantom dodge plus on-host DR make it kinda pain to kill them using hitscan ARs, so I use a shotgun instead and keep TC at rank4, this is the build I use currently, just a personal preference.

I do go for AR damage evo in my regular TGI build though, for some easy off-host Plat PUGs (with lolHarrier ) , gonna burn another respec card to return to the "normal" build soon.

Yeah Phantoms are a little irritating on host.

 

The good news is that cloaked Overload does good barrier damage to them and automatics should usually keep her flipping at the least, where her DR will temporarily drop.  You might waste a little ammo that way, but if you can get a few headshots it works out I find.  With the ramp guns (Typhoon and PPR) you have to completely stay in it, which will take a lot of ammo sometimes.

 

The thing I did when I was first starting out with solos was to take a ULM Acolyte or Scorpion just for Phantoms.
