Thus choice is still retained as you doing the DR or not would affect how the OGB turns out and what type of person they would be.
Except that they have repeatedly said that if you didn't do the ritual the baby DOES NOT EXIST. Not just that the ritual didn't happen, bu that there is no god baby. And there's no reason to assume they will suddenly backtrack on this just because you want them to.
Yes it is in theory possible to come up with a story reason to claim the OGB exists no matter what. You could also come up with a story reason that Anora would be queen no matter what (murdered Alistair right after he got back from Kirkwall). You could come up with a story reason why Anders is suddenly empress of the Anderfells, and for Shale suddenly growing rocket arms, Wynne coming back to life as a sexy young man. But like suddenly forcing the God Baby to be canon in contradiction to what they've told us repeatedly, and to their own personal canon, there's absolutely no reason to think they want to.
