Shianni, Fiona, Ricca...
That's about all I can think of at the top of my head.

What about Ser Alrik's group and who knows how many mages?  Aside from that questline, it was mentioned a few times regarding both male and female mages in DA2... and of course Leliana in her DLC and her personal quest in DA:O...  IMO we've already listed too many examples, but I think there are others.  Seems like overkill.

Found out how to quote!
Maybe I'm just dense, but I honestly never picked that up with Ser Alrik until you pointed it out.

So, one person we never meet in DA2 was at one point raped.
While I'm not supporting having rape in future games, I don't think that is quite a good example for DA2.

Fair enough, but I was just trying to clarify the stance.  I didn't bring up any of this.

Okay, I just went to the wiki. Yeeeeeah, there's a lot of rape stuff, even if just in lore.

Using a female torturer would have solved this pretty easily...  unless all Venatori are male for some reason.

Women can be rapists too.

At this point there's no evidence that it even occurs that way in Inquisition.  My point is that a female torturer does not typically raise the assumption that rape was part of the torture.  It's far more likely that people will assume it happened when they see a male torturer and female prisoner.  This assumption is almost completely negated by the change from male to female... whether or not it actually happens is beside the point.  I was strictly speaking of eliminating the speculation that the event had occurred by altering the situation presented in the demo.

I don't think they are going to have it seem Leliana was raped or anything like that.

I think Leliana will be partially blind.

Because you cut her down and on your back is your big as hell sword and behind you your companions with their big, obvious weapons and she's like "Do you have weapons?"

I don't understand the logic of choosing that scene for a demo either but Bioware already explained their case for it.

I am pretty sure bioware will not follow CD project's way of showing torture. The baroness torture scene was really not nice to see but looked more in touch with reality.

Bioware is a little more controlled that way. I think that madness from FOX is to blame...

And still you can't torture some one with armor on that's like fully clothed sex scene in video Games it's just Corny.

That's her plot armor, it can't be taken off.

With judicious use of Horror, Waking Nightmare, and things like Walking Bomb without actually letting it go off, the methods of torture that leave no mark are many.

Didn't this subject already infect a thirty page thread earlier this month?

Short Answer: Game not final.

Long Answer: Deal with it.

It is a pretty male dominated society in DA hence why multiple characters will express surprise if you play a female character and make something of yourself that defies all expectation. Such as Sten shocked and eventually admiring a female Warden and Cassandra being a huge fangirl for a FemHawke becoming Champion despite being a woman.

That and female rapists do exists, they simply would need to use tools to compensate for a lack of a certain body part.

Don't you think what you said is a tad bit conflicting because there is an overwhelming amount of women carrying around swords and wearing armor in Thedas? Women are in the guard, in the Templars, in the military, in gangs, they're pirates, mercenaries, bounty hunters, and they're in positions commanding all of the above without anyone being surprised.

I mean, yeah in Qunari society where women take on primarily political, intellectual roles over warrior, brute strength roles, yes Sten would be shocked to see a warrior woman. However in the rest of Thedas there appears to have only been surprise to see a woman in the Wardens. Which just conflicts with everything else really badly.

Maybe I just haven't played a female Warden long enough, but for the most part, the only time I've seen gender mentioned in relation to status is in dialogue options.

I mean, I mostly do a male city elf, but...?

Does it? If I said a soldier had been killed in a training exercise, do you think most people would assume I was talking about a man or woman?

Actually Thedas is not really a male dominated society, the two most powerful people in Thedas (the Divine and Orlesian Empress) are both women. Also Qunari culture is quite different from regular gender roles in Thedas when in comes to combat.

I can't assume male or female when saying a soldier died cause of something. I been in the service and dealt with differing deaths. One woman shot herself, one guy hung himself, and other examples.

However, a male torturing female prisoners could include rape less was specifically told not to. It has happened in life. A female torturer (not many of them around) with male or female prisoner wouldn't be assumed having raped either, but its very possible could happen. It dehumanizes a person, therefore a likely tool, one I would oppose outright myself. I don't want to condone it, sorry if it sounded like I came off that way.

Its likely Leliana could been recently caught and chained, only been starting when walk in. Possibly, but as a prisoner for more than a few minutes, her armor would been removed for the most part, even men would loose armor. Its possible to torture someone armed and armored.

I wish I could just walk past that door where Leliana is being held without opening it. The fact that Sera opens the door with lockpicking gives me a little hope that it is not mandatory.

Only issue I got with that scene is the shiny, sticky lipgloss.

I mean... Do they help reapply her makeup, or...
