Not all torture necessitates physical abuse by hitting someone hard, or the likes. Just splash someone with freezing water. Real cold water hurts like thousands of needles pricking you and you don't need to be naked to feel that at all.
What's up with that Torture scene in the Demo with leliana?

(scene I'm referencing starts at 25:31) this came to mind when I was thinking about Leliana's torture scene. I know the art style is crude bit its seriously effective in how a torture scene would go down. Obviously the demo wasn't finalized regarding that scene but hopefully Leliana comes out with some wear and tear equivalent to that of the video, that would justify her disapproval and disdain as the devs have put it of the Inquisitor for sending her there and becoming eventually tortured.

Look up Mythbusters Chinese Water Torture. Fully dressed, no marks, and still able to act after. Very effective though to get someone talking without actual injury, and proven very effective. A mage could replicate with magic easy enough, and he is a Magister, just boil her blood some if has blood magic use. No scratch outside, effective, and can still stand up and do combat. Just sayin.....
first time I see this, I will crack that magisters head open as fast as possible.

While males can rise as 'fathers' in the Imperium's Chantry and Magisterium (or at least that's what I think Tevinter's senate is called), so can females. It's about power. The main difference between the two Chantries is that a Chantry leader can only be female and a non-mage in the Orlesian Chantry, but those rules were tossed out when the Imperium's Chantry separated, with a new rule that the Divine must be Grand Enchanter as well. We've heard of maybe three Archons and one Black Divine (Valhail), so it's more than possible that both could be female as no lore supports male domination in Tevinter culture, only mage domination (and a responsibility to be perfect).
This is innacurate. The Qun has a very weird philosophy, but it is even in its discrimination. Sten said women are artisans, shopkeepers, farmers or similar. Men are warriors. Spies (like Tallis and Iron Bull) can be either gender. Nobody has 'more' rights in the Qun. Everybody works for the good of everybody.
Yes, an even better example is that no male can be an administrator and no female can be a Sten (commander). Like if all CEOs were female and all soldiers were men. Teaching the Qun to new converts is also a female only position. Spies, priests, and even the Ariqun (similar influence as the divine) can be of either gender. Exceptions can be made, but it is unclear how, only that the circumstances must be huge.
My opinion? The majority of Thedas could be considered matriarchal, but really it differs from small fiefdom to small fiefdom.
As for the actual topic, Leliana has been shown in her pretty plot armour look specifically to reduce spoilers, spoilers like how she was tortured in the first place. Nobody knows what could have caused her to suddenly hate mages specifically instead of the Venatori, but I'm thinking that for it to be so general a hate, it *must* be magic related (if we ever even figure out how she was tortured).
As for rape itself, anyone can be a rapist, and anyone can be a victim of rape. If the circumstance is to be raped, than I would assume Cullen would even be if we chose him instead of Leliana (if he got captured that is). Rape as a torture device has been used since record began, both by male and female torturers. Look up Lynndie England if you don't believe me. This is for info purposes, by the by, the idea of sexual torture disgusts me.
