I found out about the bug where Liara loses overload on the power wheel if she learns all her abilities the hard way. On my next playthrough I dropped stasis completely and maxed out electronics. I was just wondering if anyone preferred to use stasis instead, and if you use stasis do you put points into electronics for the shield boost? Overload seems a bit underwhelming, and stasis seems to give a bit more utility.

Depends on what class you're playing yourself, I suppose.

If you're an Adept or Sentinel with Bastion specialization (turning Stasis into a power called: "I AM YOUR GOD, KNEEL BEFORE ME"), then I wouldn't get Stasis on Liara and just go for Electronics. Overload isn't a bad power, cause it increases the damage done to the target(s), though not as much as Warp.

If you're not and feel like you don't have enough crowd control (though Liara without Stasis provided plenty), you could dip into Stasis for Liara.

I prefer to skip Stasis on her and get Master Overload since it is a decent debuff power and Electronics gives her more shields.

Like capn233, I usually skip Stasis and just put points into Overload to give her more shields for more survivability.

I skip Stasis on Liara, Wrex, and Kaiden because the Bastion spec bonus doesn't apply to their Stasis. Stasis in general isn't worth using unless you're a Bastion Adept.

Yeah I usually don't bother with Stasis and go for the Electronics..  She's got better talents to put points in than stasis.

Sometimes lately I've been taking Decryption as a Bonus Power (say on the Soldier or even the Adept), that way, with Liara's Electronics I can take any team member other than a Tech specialist.

Plus that allows you to put points in Kaidan's Throw and Pull earlier plus Neural shock, making him a better squadmate earlier on.

Exactly. Throw and Pull are awesome skills to have available and even one point in Neural Shock is handy.

I have never specced into Neural Shock on any of my Shepards or squadmates.

I  understand why very few (if not nobody) like Stasis in ME1 but I think it's because they don't know it's purpose. You don't use this power to freeze enemies for an easy kill. Stasis is a lifesaver. You use it on dangerous targets and kill everything else. It helps to deal with someone annoying like engineer that dumps your powers constantly, biotic that throws you like a ragdoll or a krogan/rachni soldiers that can defeat you easily/stop you from killing mooks. For example on Therum using Stasis on that krogan helped me out a lot while I cleared the room of geth. And you can use Stasis on powerful enemies like Geth Prime if you don't have main powers like Lift or Throw available yet. And what's awesome about Stasis is that even with only 1 point spent on it it's already does its job. I prefer Stasis on her because you can Warp someone first and then lock them with Stasis. Target dies by itself and if it doesn't, it's easy to finish it off with weapons.  Plus, it's good for missions that you have to check your targets. It pissed me off when I used Throw on UNC: Besieged Base and killed a victim that was standing in my way. Stasis could've work here perfectly.

Also, in ME2/3 she's the only character with Stasis.

That Krogan on Therum doesn't move until you kill all the Geth, lol. (his only motion prior to all Geth having been killed is getting into cover)

Your use of Warp makes me wanna cry. It removes 75% of the damage reduction on enemies, making them hilariously easy to kill. Putting them away in Stasis almost seems like a waste of a good power.I tend to use it on the big enemies you use stasis on for quick kills :D

ME2 Stasis is a whole different ball game... and very, very broken.

I use Warp that way rarely, only if there's only 1 big target with a horde of mooks. I don't need to warp them since 1 powerful throw can kill almost anything trooper-level. And I want to give me some space because some tanks spoil all the fun making you stand in a doorway and hiding every single time they rush on you. This way, I Warp+Stasis it, make calm work on every other mook, wait till Stasis goes off and as my Warp still debuffs it due to short Stasis, I shoot it down. I agree that without Stasis it would be quickier but only if you have good Fitness/Protection or tactics. It depends on playstyle really. I'd rather fight longer but without having to reload 3 times trying to beat same enemies and dying.

When I play my Adept on Insanity I put 1 point in Stasis and use it as last resort, say a charging krogan or destroyer, when/if my other powers are on cool down.

But I don't bother with it for Liara, as personally I prefer her Electronics.

Er. If you mean by '1 powerful throw can kill almost anything trooper-level' that you throw them off the map and they die, I agree. If you mean a regular throw killing the trooper level mooks, then we're done.

Cause that stuff don't happen on insanity :P

^ Yep.  Immunity is a helluva power.  You can toss mooks off the highest mountains on side missions and it won't phase them. :)

Just discovered that the hard way too... I just put 1 point into stasis for crowd control at the start, now i m stuck without overload ant 2 wasted points. That s pretty lame not to have fix this ... even with a crap fix where u put one of liara's power in the shortcuts.

Overload seems pretty decent against shield, but maybe it s because i dont look closely at the effect :). Warp debuffing is great ? I missed that too :)
