Does Mass Effect have to be installed to import your saves successfully into Mass Effect 2? I know it problably doesn't have to be, since your saved games remain on the hard drive, I just wanted to make absolutely sure since

1) Mass Effect 2's importing system is doing something unique with saves
2) I'd rather not delete Mass Effect only to find I have to spend hours re-downloading it, which would slow my preloading of Mass Effect 2.

And yes, I searched the forums and could not find this information elsewhere. If it matters, both ME and ME2 I have through steam.
