But what if the reapers decided to form a union?
Those batarians over there are getting away. Harvest them. Harvest, I say!
Can't do it, I'm on a break.

Harbinger demands a 5 percent salary increase over 3 years before he starts harvesting asari.
And in 300 years, Starbrat outsources harvesting to Andromeda (in Andromeda), and the reapers go on unemployment leaving the Milky Way to fend for itself.
THE END.
Nothing in Mass Effect 3 makes any sense, mostly because it completely disregards continuity.
ME3 is just a bad game because of the terrible and grossly illogical writing and story. That is the answer to the question. The end. Close thread.
I'd have to wonder how UI benefits are even established for the reapers. Like do the reapers have to submit certification every 50,000 years?

Hold on there, Ke-mo sah-bee. Only the big giant head can close the thread, and no one tells him what to do. Anyhoo, ME2 does what you claim ME3 does, possibly even worse.

Okay sir, no problem. You can simply submit the paperwork the next time you're in the galaxy.
Paperwork? Get with the times. Just log in to labor.mw.ctrl and certify via the extranet.

Nope, there weren't any problems until Mass Effect 3. Not even one.

I hate to steal HYR's response, but I can't help but feel it's the most appropraite:

I mean, let's just look at the issues introduced in ME2 alone:
Project Lazarus, a potential source for some sort of existential crisis, used solely as an alignment and abilities reset button
Cerberus' explosion to a majorly powerful faction (everyone accuses ME3 of this, but ME2 is where it began)
The Council's total backslide on acknowledgement of the reapers, even to Commander Shepard in the privacy of the human councilor's office
The sudden existence of the Collectors
Human genetic diversity (tying into the DE concept)
The human reaper
Arrival, in which the reapers, for some reason, put a giant beacon on an asteroid that can give people visions of their impending arrival.
The reapers' ability to simply make their way toward the galaxy within the course of just a couple of years, making Sovereign's suicidal run to the Citadel seem rather foolish

Dark Energy theory. Done.

Oh jeez, brace yourself, man. Brace yourself.
- Shepard having to die felt like a quick "fix me" omni-button.
- Being bossed around
- Why U No Indoctrinated, Shepard?
- Why Dark Energy? Why U expand?
- My Normandy is filled with too many people I don't need!
- Why U Stupid, Ash?
- Why U Stupid, Kaidan?
- That Reaper looks like a crab, but with more human ribs! ![]()
- Ah, yes, Reapers!
Pretty much what I can think of.
Oh jeez, brace yourself, man. Brace yourself.
Jesus, I stepped on a hornet's nest.
They are posting stuff about some kind of "Dark Energy theory" and some BS about "Human genetic diversity", story elements which weren't even in ME1 or ME2. ![]()

Lol, and you said you played ME2. Lies! ![]()

You're right, and ME3 also introduced zombie crew members.

Now you're just trolling.
The Lazarus project was awesome BTW. What a great way to start off a great game.

Doesn't disprove that.

Were you expecting a serious response? At this point, I'm not really sure what's serious and what isn't, especially with the statements that dark energy and human genetic diversity are not story elements in ME2 (I never mentioned ME1 anyway).
As for Project Lazarus, in and of itself it doesn't really make for a meaningful addition to the overarching narrative. Really, Shepard's death is interchangeable with Shepard's coma. It introduces voodoo science unnecessarily and is dismissed just as easily. I mean, just look at Shepard's line regarding his/her death when it's mentioned. "I got better." Lol. Sh0tGuN jUlIa's right. Mass Effect is an Arnold movie.

To be fair, Adams is kind of a jerk. If anybody deserves to have their brains eaten... I mean, he stepped into the AI Core before shep, in front of witnesses. What if the place exploded? What if Dr. Eva jumped out, grabbed the fire extinguisher and beat him to death with it? Then a renegade interrupt would have shep take the extinguisher and knock Dr. Eva back into some electrical wiring, where she would get zapped.... but, Adams would have stolen shep's thunder by sacrificing himself to give shep time to pull off that move. He'd be a hero. Conrad would tear up his shep poster in a fit of nerdrage and then start the Cult of Adams the next day.
I like this article.
You guys are going to bring that article up every time this discussion comes up, right?
Those are just discarded ideas that never came to frutation. But it doesn't matter, anything that Drew mentioned is better than the crap the Mac Walters came up with.
We don't really know if it would've turned out better or worse. From what I understand, even Drew K. himself admitted that fans may not have liked the whole dark energy thing either. It's possible that even he would have thrown the idea away had he stuck around for the duration of the trilogy.

You basically just said you were wrong. Particular characters in ME2 talk about the spread of Dark Energy, although, it is never explained enough to concern the player because the idea was dropped, but not the dialogues that support it. The human proto-reaper was definitely a dead giveaway of dropped ideas. Apparently, it was too huge to throw out of the air-lock.

Dark Energy was mentioned and part of a mission (Tali loyalty mission). Dark Energy does theoretically exist, so no idea why that is even a problem. Why do you think it is a problem, even though it is not even a major story element?
Where was human genetic diversity ever even mentioned and also a major part of the story in ME2?

I'd give him a medal. But it would be a medal I would have to keep.
