Ancalagon the Black would clean his teeth with Balerion
This is why they can't do the Silmarillion.
How much of their budget would go to animating that mother-f***er?

I prefer GoT dragons

Yup. It's about half an hour of scenes tying things up, then... well, war.
This is why they can't do the Silmarillion.

Makes me think of something off-topic... have lovecraftian monsters (or unimaginably colossal monsters) been animated well in a movie ever?
Also...
This isn't exclusive to the hobbit but Why the hell can't anyone pronounce war correctly?
Woh-er
woh-er.
Not Waaagh.
I might have to go see it again before I really settle my thoughts on it all, but I really enjoyed it. (Enough to see it again!)
Full spoilers follow:

Because we're all Chinese and Japanese!
I'm mostly looking forward to the part where Smaug destroys lake town.

I was always under the impression that Smaug was SMOG not SMAAAHHHOOOIIIG.

Like Sauron is Sao-ron not SORON.
So, I won't be able to go see it for a week or so. But can anyone tell me if it ends with Bilbos relatives moving into Bag-End and selling his stuff because they thought Bilbo was dead in a ditch somewhere?
I'm hoping to watch this on Thursday. Enjoyed the first two (second one's the best so far), so I'm going in with balanced expectations here...

Those aren´t dragons, but wyverns. Same with movie Smaug, WTF PJ?
If Seath the Scaleless from Dark Souls is a Dragon, anything goes.

Hell Phalanx from SOTC is also considered a Dragon!

lol you hit it right on the money there, Clones ![]()
Why can't to it properly people? YT itself is full of ads and crap, post videos on BSN.
Agreed.
Smaug > GoT dragons.

It's how the book ends.

It's how the book ends.
I forgot that detail.
The Hobbit isn't my favourite Tolkien book like it's everybody else's xD
Though it is a rushed end because of the lack of Balin in the end... and Rivendell before that.
That made me sad.
Well the Trailers and the title changed made me realize the movie was probably going to be 2 hours of straight action.
So it's to be expected they sped through the ending.
Still though, I am excited to go see it.

Think it was more about the complaints of LOTR's endings.
Which I still don't get.
LOTR tied everything together beautifully.
This film didn't.
I loved it.
But it sours me that we don't see Bard as King.
I saw the movie last night and LOOOOOVED it!
Just came back from the movie. It was alright.
