Pretty sure if you killed Loghain, he stays dead. I think Leliana's plot justification was that the Ashes of Andraste brought her back to life, which Loghain can't get to in time from Redcliffe.
From Denerim, actually.
I think the the Leliana thing was a retcon when they saw how popular she was.

Loghain is dead, Leliana will be explained. Hopefully in Inquisition, I plan on having her dead for my "canon" world state for that.

Lots of people say that and I can understand it from a player perspective, but what about from a character perspective? Why would the Inquisitor want to kill one of his/her advisors?

Loghain, no gain. He should be dead if you killed him.
That physically hurt.
Well played.

Know what's funny? Despite all his raving lunacy during the events of DA:O, Loghain was right about Orlais all along. At least people who spared him (like myself) will get to see him do some awesome Grey Wardening.

I always keep ol Murdock alive out of respect for his voice actor, Robin Sachs (also played Zaeed), who sadly passed away last year.

Maybe she ends up disobeying orders or botching too many operations, that would be reason enough for some to kill her or want her dead and it would make sense from a character perspective.

If that happens, yes. Some people just want to kill her because she annoyed them in Origins, but the Inquisitor doesn't even know her yet. It's just from a RP perspective I find it odd.

not the point. he commited a war crime and betrayed his king in cold blood. Death is the least he should be punished with. I had to do it for duncan for whom i had a great respect. plus he sold elves, sent an assassin to an earl and the list goes onKnow what's funny? Cool. Cailan was an idiot who committed suicide by glory. The Pyrrhic victory that he wanted would have left Ferelden open to Orlesian invasion not to mention that Ostagar was a feint by the Archdemon to weaken Ferelden's military.

And that Cailan actually was plotting to marry Celene after all.
My god, that would've been an absolute disaster.
Anyway, I agree with TDKR. I hope Loghain shows up again in DAI. His cameo in Awakening was cool, but far too short for my liking.

Doesn't matter. If Loghain would have followed Cailan's plan (to which he objected twice) Ferelden would have fallen one way or another. Loghain's retreat was strategically sound. It's everything he does after that comes into question.

No, I meant more in the sense that having Celene in charge of Ferelden (especially during a Blight) would have been a monumentally bad thing. And I don't begrudge Anora keeping her priorities on ruling Ferelden over having an heir-- as badass as Maric sounds, Cailan's kid probably would have taken more after his father than his grandfather. That line's time was done.

I would assume that they aren't going to pull a Leliana with Loghain, no.
I imagine that if you execute him, he won't appear, and if you didn't, he will.
