To me, Loghain sucks as a tactician. I had paragraphs explaining why but decided to not bother. 
Wall of text was too much, and Loghain is pretty much dead, most play throughs anyways. Him becoming anything in the Inquisition couldn't be effective. His death, if died, was one that cant be faked.
Even the single time I let Loghain join the Wardens, I killed him by having him do the sacrifice instead of my own Warden, cause he was evil like that. Let the idiot die if he wants to is what my warden thought. So technically, Loghain never lived in any of my play throughs. I don't find him justifiable to live and never will.

no one likes being rejected, some of us are better at handling it than others, burning innocents, rounding up ethnic groups, and threatening genocide and hellfire are on one end of the spectrum

Yeah this is why I prefer hardened Leliana. She's not stupid enough to fight the warden over some ashes with an intimidate check.
Yep, hers is feign death, Oghren said Warden didn't check his body for death. Of course those that happened to get the optional, not every kill, head chop thinks the head chop was a 100 percent option that it would happen every single time, which it doesn't.
