So if i executed loghain in the landsmeet, will he stay dead or will we see him in DA: I. I hope choices will be respected and BW doesnt do another Leliana
Loghain isn't a bisexual ~girly girl~ with a backstory of using sexual activities to get a job done and a same-sex relationship so don't worry he'll stay dead.

You know, one thing I never quite understood about Ostagar is why they were acting like waiting for reinforcements was really an option.
Cailen's army wasn't going on the offensive and attacking some darkspawn stronghold, they were waiting for the darkspawn to attack Ostagar. That was going to happen when it happened. They couldn't well ask the darkspawn to wait until Eamon's men or the Orlesians showed up.

I assumed the option they inferred by that was a series of fighting withdrawals, slowing the darkspawn and spreading them out, and only turning to truly give battle once the reinforcements did arrive. It wouldn't have been at Ostagar, obviously.
Then again, they might have meant just holing up in the fortress and waiting. Whatever it was couldn't have been any worse than standing in a cul-de-sac and giving yourself no avenue to retreat or disengage.

You know, that always confused me, obviously the Army had a path through the valley right? Or else how would they have gotten there besides just marching from the hills around said valley, so either there was a path through the valley they could have retreated through, or else they were really working fighting in a box canyon.
Fighting in a Killzone only works when you can exploit fighting in a killzone with superior positioning, to negate enemy numeric advantage.

I had assumed that there was a retreat path but the darkspawn who took the tower of Ishal also came out behind them, cutting that path off. Like I said earlier, if you look at the battle from the bridge on your way to the tower, there is fighting throughout the army below, not just at the front of the lines.

Well i'd always assumed things were going FUBAR on the ground to be honest, Loghain doesn't seem the type to abandon his men to darkspawn if he had a half decent chance of saving them.

Anyway, Loghain is old when he becomes a Grey Warden and the Taint means a short life. So Loghain could very well be dead by DA:I due to that or has a cameo where you meet him heading off to Orzammer and later the Deep Roads to walk the final walk of the Grey Wardens.
No, not even the Grey Wardens knew much or anything about them until DA:O I believe.
grey warden: loghain's going on calling...?
messenger: yes my lord; who would be appoint to handle the orlesians?
grey warden: get loghain in here....
loghain: i have to go on my calling; finally i can atone properly for my crime.
grey warden: the f? oh hell no u aint gettin off easy...Men..!tie up that noob and open his mouth!
"grey warden brings a vial of avernus' potion and force feeds loghain"
grey warden: motha f! i will have you continue being a part of the orlesian wardens; even if i have to replace parts of u with demon or darkspawn organs! no easy redemption for u! back to work!

Being friendly and personal doesn't state they were planning to wed, again just inferences. I asked for proof.
- Loghain: The cheating bastard!
- Wynne: Watch your mouth, Loghain Mac Tir, unless you have forgotten the company you now keep!
- Loghain: It's not my company I worry about, madam, but my former son-in-law's! Do you see the familiar tone with which the empress writes him, as if my daughter were not already his wife?
- Wynne: Cailan loved Anora with every ounce of his heart. It was plain for all to see. The only thing that ever stood between them was you.
- Loghain: Are you blind, old woman? The plot is plain as day within this letter! Love or no, Cailan was going to cast my daughter aside and wed himself to that ******, Celene. In a single vow, Orlais would claim all that they could never win by war! And what would Ferelden gain? Our fool of a king could strut about and call himself an emperor.
- Wynne: And what of peace? Would it not bring us that, at least?
- Loghain: Peace? I would have thought your age might have granted more wisdom, madam. Peace just means fighting someone else's enemies in someone else's war for someone else's reasons.
- If Dog is with them, when Loghain calls Celene a ******, Dog will growl before Loghain continues the rest of what he is saying.

@Addiction First off I would suggest not being a jerk and accuse me of making things up.Second,I know for a fact one of the writers said Duncan was planning on abandoning Feraldan to the Blight in order to buy time and regroup with the Orlesian Wardens because I read the article a long time ago.The fact that Blackwall confirmed such a plan was in the works supports the claim.

Yeah, the timeline doesn't work out very well. In order for him to have ordered the death of the Couslands, he would have had to have been plotting with Howe almost since the moment the Darkspawn were reported coming out of the Wilds.
Before that. The logistics of planning an assassination of an entire family and their household would necessitate more then just 3 weeks (which is when the Darkspawn were spotted). Howe's men apprehended Varel (along with others) and imprisoned him because he was going to go to the Couslands about what Howe was going to do and/or start an insurrection because of the plan.
Plus we already have Gaider's quote on the subject.
Did he turn her over to Howe, or did Anora put herself into that position to influence the Warden via Erlina?
The latter. Anora deliberately went to Howe to get information from him because Howe isn't subtle and was locked away for it, but Erlina was allowed to come and go (probably because Howe thought an Elven servant couldn't possibly be given such an important position). Erlina tells us that she went there of her own accord. This allowed Anora to work towards going against Loghain without making it so obvious, because of who the key person in the political scene is right now (The Warden).

It also put her into a position to try and save her father's life, keep her throne, and play all potential threats against each other.

I don't get this thing....
Why for those that commit to Leliana being killed by the Warden is a surprise on coming back?
Killed everyone in one play through, go to Awakening, Oghren is alive? Ok, talking to him. You never checked to see if I was dead Warden. ..... Ok simple enough..
Warden, does, not, check, the, dead.
So, finding out Leliana survived cause the, warden, does, not, check, the, dead, makes me think, ok, she wasn't actually killed, she feigned. How hard is that to grasp?!
Obviously too difficult for some people....

Anyways, I killed Loghain in ALL play throughs, even my most vile one allowed Loghain to die on the Archdemon, cause hey, he values his life more. If he lives tomorrow, someone slants him, he gives them the axe.

This is one of the worst justifications I've ever heard... it was a retcon because the writers wanted to use the character in future games, and according to their data, only a small percentage of fans killed her. It's not a new concept, as this happens in literature all the time. Why is that hard to accept?

Feigning death is a rogue's skill. Tricking to survive later, its not a retcon, its a skill. Writer doesn't have to say, Oh, she isn't dead cause we are writing her as not dead. when I am saying feign death isn't the worst justification. Rogues do this a lot, feign death, false death, so they don't die. That isn't retcon, that is a skill being used.
People can and have survived battles by pretending death, crawled away, get healed back up and go on. How is this retcon? Its not a justification in writing, its stating, why the person didn't die, this is why. They didn't die cause they feigned. Happens often actually.
