We all have ideas of what we'd like to see in Dragonage, some of them are good, some of them are bad. And some ideas are just WAY out there. However some of the craziest ideas can still be worth it, the trick is figuring out how to make it work.

Case in point: Bull / Dwarf Romance :D

So I wanted to have a thread for people to share their truly outlandish ideas; ideas that might be worth it nonetheless. Here's the caveat, you can't just post and idea and leave it at that. If you post an idea, come up with a way that you could make it work.

Given the nature of these ideas, most are highly unlikely to be in Inquisition, and that's ok. Maybe you can come up with something that would work in a DLC, or more likely it something to think about for a future Dragonage title.

To start off with I wanted to provide an idea that many people have mentioned, but also describe how I would see it implemented.

The Warden, The Champion, and The Inquisitor

Right off the bat we are talking about a whole new game here, no doubt about that. Rather then introduce yet another new protagonist into the series, the new game would instead continue the story of these three world shakers as they work together against whatever the next major threat is. Probably the black city itself.

However you can't just bring them in as companions and leave it at that. Players want to be able to import "Their" Warden and Champion into the next game, they want to have agency in their actions and decisions since it is their character to play with. So I would strive to make all three of them into protagonists for the game. How would this work? I would take a page out of GTA V and have each of them being player controlled separately during aspects of the game. It would be interesting to play a game where these characters must now really share the spotlight and responsibility.

That could easily turn into scripting hell if you tried to account for everything, so in order to make it work there would need to be certain limitations and restrictions used to keep things moving smoothly. Unless they wanted to develop a conversation option that allowed you to control both sides of the conversation, the interactions between these three will have to remain limited. More so, the game would revolve around three separate stories, or more specifically three separate parts of the same story. At any time during the course of the game you can switch between one of the three protagonists and continue on from there. Companions can be shared between the three of them, and their actions have effects that can be felt by the other two. If the Warden clears out a valley of Darkspawn, the Inquisitor will be able to go there later to complete a quest that would not have been available otherwise. Likewise if the Inquisitor destroys a village to prevent the spread of demons, the Champion may lose out on a quest to save a mage with valuable info from that village. For most of the game they will work independently like this, allowing for an actually manageable development design for such a game.

But they can still come together for specific event of the game that are designed just for that. Imagine an epic boss battle where the three of them must work together to kill a corrupted dragon or other major threat. This will particularly interesting in cases where the three of them may not make up an ideal party to begin with. You might be left with all three rogues against the dragon.

Thank you, I would love to see what other crazy awesome ideas people have.

Hmm, maybe I should have made "Crazy Awesome" part of the thread title...

Seeing as Hawke, at least, is confirmed for DA:I, this idea has a bit more merit.

It would be an awesome way to progress the story of Thedas as a whole.

Interestingly the new IP Shadowrealms will be dealing in 4 player co-op story immersive RPG. Made me wonder about a 4 player co-op Dragonage.

This is the thread for crazy ideas you know. ;)

I'm pretty sure they don't have anything that set for the game AFTER Inquisition. And even if they did it's still early enough that this is a viable suggestion.

I vote wait until Dragon Age 10 where we've had a full plethora of protagonists.

And then, we can make the Theodosian Expendables.

First one is simple. jar of bees down a dragon's throat, followed by hilarity.
Second, shapeshifter scouts. Inquisition scouts that gather information by turning into birds and beasts and bugs.
Third, I want to be able to time travel to the founding of the Chantry. While we don't know any time travel spells, maybe Solas could help me do his Fade-memory trick, so I can at least see what it was like, in a biased manner.

We have 9 companions and take 3 with us in the party when we go to do something. Would be nice if all of your companions participated in the endgame quest, a la Suicide mission. This way, Warden and Hawke could make 2 additional parties and go deal with side objectives, with playable segments even, allowing your main party to reach the end boss. If you make bad choices in the trilogy you can have less characters available and the ending would not be so good.
