So, I go up to the AA tower to save Ashley, I run over to where she should be, but all I can find is one lone Salarian hiding behind cover. Where is she?

Maybe Kaidan and Ash got together and decided to leave shep behind this time. Kirrahe stayed behind to break the bad news.

Is that a ticking sound?

Seriously, have no idea. Sounds like an interesting bug.

The AA site is strange. I got anything from a lone Salarian --who immediately dies-- up to 5 Salarians + VS --who kill all the Geth themselves-- when I went there.

Maybe the reaction to the assistance points (disabling com-towers, the fighters and whatnot) is buggy?

[unrelated] The AA tower fight also seems to be way easier than the bomb site one.

Plus Saren holds you over the edge.

Wow, that sounds cool: 5 Salarians plus the VS.

My problem with the bomb site is that the enemy is sooo far away. Particularly Saren who ends up miles from where you start. These days I end up picking who survives by deciding who goes with the Salarians.

I believe it was 5 ( only had it once)

Kirrahe and Rentola (?) together with the VS behind some cover and 2 or 3 Salarians running around in front of that.

I accidentally shot one (not sure if that killed him, the others seem to be immune to friendly fire ) and another exploded due to either a geth-carnage or a fuel-tank blowing up, can't remember.

Edit: I actually like the bomb site better. My problem is surviving the first tripple-rockets followed by a melee-Juggernaut 'flying' towards you.

I tend to save whoever goes to the AA Tower but the scene of Shepard throwing the VS over his/her shoulder is so very Boss
it especially amusing when femshep is carrying Kaidan over her shoulder like he's a child.

@BHRamsay, it looks so stupid when my BroShep carries Ash on his shoulder instead of picking her with his arms under her back and legs. Especially if she's being romanced. And Saren holding Shepard over the edge is more badass.

. I just located Ashley. When you enter the battleground you encounter a few geth. Onthe left side are two geth primes. Ashley is behind those two primes. Near the pillar.

Carrying someone the way you suggest is really inefficient, and not how the military is trained. The devs got it right in having Shepard do the fireman's carry.

Actually with the fireman's carry Fem Shep would even be able to carry someone like Vega with relative ease. It has to do with the way the weight is balanced evenly across your shoulders.

It boot camp when they first taught us how to do it they had the smallest recruit carry the heaviest first and run a short distance with the other recruit on his shoulders, before having the rest of us do it. It was a guy about 5'4 and 140 lbs carrying someone who was like 6'3 and well over 200 lbs.

The fireman's carry, utilizing back and shoulder strength, is engineered as an emergency measure to optimize power, endurance, and mobility. As such, it may be applicable where there is ongoing hazard, the carried person is larger than the rescuer, the rescuer is otherwise unable to move the victim at all, or it is imperative to cross significant distances, quickly.

Fireman's Carry

The need to move quickly was certainly present in the aftermath of the Virmire mission, as was the inability to move the VS by more efficient means. If Fem Shep is rescuing Kaidan she's also carrying a person heavier than herself, meeting another criteria for using the fireman's carry.

But Ashley is a woman. And she isn't heavier than Male Shepard. Anyway, it looks wierd if I romance her.
