If only there were a way to grab guardians over cover, and kill them by stuffing a grenade into their mouth.

That would count towards guardian, grab, melee, and grenade points. Can one do better?

It's too bad the Demolisher doesn't do a variation of her heavy melee on a grab, otherwise you could get a friend to strip the guardian of its shield (pull and lash come to mind) and achieve what you describe in all but the technicality of grenades points.

I don't see how this can possibly have not been mentioned yet...

The motherfucking Geth cheaters points of course!!!!

Almost all of my solos were against Geth so Geth mastery was inevitable (12 times for Geth, 6 for solo matery)

If I could master solo matery, I'd never leave the house.

N7 and Map Mastery, some of the characters and weapons particularly the arc pistol (for Deerber).

I just gave up on any challenges really as it felt like too much hard work. It would have been better if they had actually rewarded you properly in some way by giving you weapons unavailable elsewhere but for just a few points and banners, nah.

Raptor - or anything else involving breaking your left mouse button.

Raptor. That gun gave me the genophage.

Raptor was my first love. Don't dare speak of it like that.

Seriously, IMO it is the best uncommon or lower weapon there is. Sure, the UR Indra outclasses it but it is still viable and effective on any difficulty. Just use a Targeting VI, then you just have to do double or triple taps on mooks. If you are just going to spam bodyshots than it admittedly isn't very effective.

Admittedly, bringing the Raptor to plat where there are so many bosses requires fingers of steel, but there is always the Indra for weaklings. I have long since become immune to carpal tunnel from my love of semiautomatic rifles in games.

Mattock with scope is better sniper rifle than Raptor unless using TC with SR evo. More damage per shot, faster ROF, larger mag, no hipfire penalty, better scope. Admittedly slightly higher weight, longer reload time and worse accuracy, but the pros outweigh the cons.

Are you sure about the RoF? i was under the impression it was the other way round. Also, since the Raptor comes with scope included, you can put on extended thermal clip (over 200 rounds spare, more than the Mattock) and the sniper rifle high velocity barrel for similar weight (30 points difference) with more capacity and damage per shot.

Raptor has minimum refire time of 0.15 which lowers it's ROF below Mattock's, and if you have any significant weapon damage bonuses from passives, ammo and consumables, Mattock with scope and nothing else still has better damage per shot than Raptor with damage barrel. With both scope and barrel Mattock can deal about 20% more damage per shot than Raptor.

Ammo capacity is a non-issue, they both have plenty enough.

dunno what the rest of the posts have said, but solo platinum is definitely the most challenging (and annoying because it is so difficult).

The ones that take forever are husk points and well that's really it for me; the rest don't bother me much.

EDIT: The rest that people complain about come along with natural play. N7 Mastery? pfft you get to play ANY character you want for those. I did every challenge, except solo platinum, a looooong time ago; i've gotten close but have never made it to the extraction wave, even when I have completed the objectives on wave 10 I die. :( Since i've stopped playing this game religiously, I doubt I ever will.

I'll concede that the Mattock is better on most classes for most playstyles, but it lacks the accuracy to land headshots reliably at longer ranges. I used it on my infiltrators when I first started playing until I got the Raptor, and there is a wolrd of difference between the two when you are shooting at a distance. Mattock can land bodyshots all day, but frequently misses the head even with a scope at medium ranges, and when I play with it I feel more limited in being able to wipe mook spawns from cross map because of this.

The Raptor has laser accuracy even at max ROF (which is easy to achieve, I totally don't get the carpal tunnel complaints with it compared to the faster Mattock), which can make up for its lower damage if you use a higher level targeting VI and can reliably land headshots. Plus the reload is just smexy when you reload cancel. It's like you have an infinite magazine capacity. The hipfire penalty is only 15%, and the scope is such low zoom and so user friendly that you can use it in CQC anyway (compared to say, the Incisor, which thinks its a sniper rifle but can't actually hit anything frequently at any range).

That being said, I only use the Raptor on infiltrators where you get the 25% bonus. The Mattock is a better all around weapon in most circumstances in other roles, but only just. They really do just about the same thing 80% of the time and are both "elegant weapons for a more civilized age" compared to the EZ mode automatics in this game.

I found getting the Gold waves to finish Map Mastery was more frustrating, especially when trying to find Gold matches on specific maps. Would take forever sometimes to get a game on one of those maps.

Getting Husk kills can be time-consuming too, though I found it amusing that the last time I completed the Reaper challenge the Husks were the second to last group I had to complete. Banshees were the last Reaper enemy I had to complete.

For me it was N7 Mastery and then the over cover grabs. The 2nd was just not my playstyle at all so I had to grind for it on Bronze Glacier and did not enjoy it at all. If the enemy are close enough for me to grab them I have got it wrong somewhere. But that's just me. Others may love doing grabs. The only gun challenge I got no fun out of at all was the Incisor, ugh.

The promotions is by far the most pointless, never done that. But the worst is probably 200 waves on a kit you don't like but want to do quickly to reset Commando mastery.

Melee points under combat mastery are the most frustrating for me. Grabs are really easy to do and I have headshots done in a few games. The melee points just drag on forever...

The damage from grabs counts as melee points. That helps a bit.

Play as a Jugg and melee everything. If you can do this with three other BSNers in the group you can also cause three simultaneous aneurysms as a bonus.
